PRO-D DAY PIZZA FUNDRAISER!

Reminder that Tuesday, February 21^st if a pro-d day.  On this day we will also be having a -N-Eds Pizza Fundraiser.  This fundraiser runs all day long and is open to their entire menu. See the flyer below for information on how to eat pizza while supporting our school!

 

HEALTH AWARENESS

Reminder: Health Awareness is for everyone entering our school – this includes staff, students, and visitors. Health awareness includes checking regularly for any symptoms of illness (including, but not limited to, COVID-19 symptoms) and staying home if ill.

 

WESTVIEW LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE

Westview library will be hosting a fun-filled open house for families living in their catchment area on February 22, from 6:00-8:00 pm.  This event will also include a treasure hunt, hot chocolate, books, snacks and door prizes.  Check out the attached flyer below if interested.

 

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

The Jump Rope for Heart event that will be taking place at MRE on Feb. 24^th.  To date, MRE students have raised $610 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Most exciting is all the skipping students are doing – it’s a great way to exercise and have fun!

 

 

SPIRIT WEAR

Get excited! Spirit Wear sales are coming back FRIDAY FEBRUARY 24th.  Get your limited-edition spirit wear while it lasts.

 

YOUNG ACTORS PROGRAM VISITS MRE

Lights! Camera! Action! The highly acclaimed children’s drama workshop series “The Young Actors Project” is underway! This year all 21 divisions have signed up for these fun-filled workshops.  They not only enhance our Language Arts and Fine Arts curriculum, but help kids explore their imaginations, deepen their communication skills and build their confidence – all while introducing them to drama in a fun and exciting way.

 

Workshops are in class and are taught by a professional actor and drama coach experiences working with children. Each class receives three workshops of 90 minutes each, with the K/1 workshops being 45 minutes.

 

The total cost of this activity is $12.50 per child in Gr. 1-7 and $6.25 per child in Gr. K/1.  Please pay via the parent portal or directly with your child’s teacher.  No child will be excluded from this activity, so if the fee presents a hardship for you, please contact the office.

CURIOUS MINDS PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION

Both Curious Minds Preschool registrations will be open to new families on Monday, February 10th!   This preschool is located on the MRE school grounds.  There is a second location at Glenwood Elementary.

 

NOTE: Children need to be fully potty trained and 3 years old by December 31^st, 2023, to be eligible for preschool.

Our Extended preschool programs run 9am-1pm

2 days/week (Tues/Thur) = $200/month

3 days/week (M-W-F) = $275/month

Full Time = $375/month

We will require a non- refundable $50 registration fee as well as (1 Months fee) deposit

Registration is based on a first come first serve basis, so please phone the Location you are interested in for more information, & to book a date and time to meet!!!

The Lost & Found has several items that are missing their owners! Any items unclaimed at the end of next week will be donated to charity.

 

PAC UPDATES

PAC MEETING…

The next PAC meeting is on Monday, March 6 at 7:00 pm in the school library.  All parents and guardians of MRE students are members of the PAC and are welcome to attend the meetings.  We hope to see you there!

The Bingo planning meeting is right beforehand at 6:00 p.m.

All parents are invited to attend the second Bingo Night planning meeting on Monday March 6 at 6:00 pm (before the PAC meeting). Bingo!
