Welcome to Kindergarten Event – Friday, May 15

Harry Hooge Elementary staff are very excited to welcome our Kindergarten students who have registered for the 2020-21 school year. Our “Welcome to Kindergarten” event will have a unique look this year, but we still want to mark this important milestone in your child’s life. In order for this event to run smoothly while also ensuring the safety of all involved, we’ve divided the Kindergarten students into 5 groups based on alphabetical last names. Please be sure to arrive at Harry Hooge on Friday, May 15 during your time slot listed below:

11:00-11:30am           Last names starting with B and C
11:30-12:00pm           Last names starting with D to J inclusive
12:00-12:30pm           Last names starting with K and L
12:30-1:00pm             Last names starting with M to P inclusive
1:00-1:30pm               Last names starting with R to W inclusive

Upon arrival, you will be directed to pull into our school parking lot for curbside pickup of your child’s Welcome to Kindergarten bag. We ask that only one adult and the new Kindergarten student retrieve the bag from our Kindergarten staff while the remaining occupants stay in the vehicle. The bags are full of goodies that have been specially assembled for your kindergartener.  Over the next few weeks, you will receive a newsletter called, “The Early Learning Express.”  Have a look for ideas about getting ready for kindergarten and how to use items from the Welcome to Kindergarten bags.

We can’t wait to meet our new Kindergarten friends on Friday.
