2022 Spring Cross Country
After a two-year hiatus, School District 42 is organizing a spring cross-country meet for both primary and intermediate students on the following dates:
Intermediates:
Monday, May 9th at Alouette Lake Day Use Area.

Primaries:
Monday, May 16th at the Albion Sports Complex.

Training:
Begins the week of April 16th, always at lunch.
For Primaries:
Mme Belson, Mrs. Scott, Mme Wear, Mme McDonnell, Mrs. McRobbie and Mr. Drabik will be holding practice sessions at lunch from 11:50-12:15 on
- Tuesday (Grade 1)
- Wednesday (Grade 2)
- Thursday (Grade 3)
All practices will occur outside the gym at the front of the school. Due to gym unavailability, practices may be cancelled because of severe weather. An announcement will be made just before lunch reminding runners to meet their coach or letting them know that there has been a cancellation due to weather. No practice on Wednesday, May 11 due to a Pro-D Day.
For intermediates:
Ms. Abdulla and Mr. Severud will be holding practice sessions at lunch from 11:50-12:15 every
- Tuesday for 6/7s and
- Thursday for 4/5s.
Rain or shine, practice will occur around the school property unless there is a severe thunderstorm or other extreme weather. A change of clothes is recommended, especially on wet days. The gymnasium is unavailable for use at lunch.
Clothing:
Intermediates should wear a regular gym strip or just come to school in athletic wear that day (there is limited time to change). Primaries should come to school in appropriate athletic wear, including shoes. Water bottles for both levels are recommended.
Permission Forms:
All students are welcome to join and there is no “signing-up”, every student is welcome. The permission form will be sent out in a separate message on the Parent Portal in the upcoming weeks.
