This is an update on the building envelope project that is underway at Pitt Meadows Elementary. As a reminder, this work involves the replacement of the existing stucco in areas of the building constructed between 1985 and 2000. A rainscreen stucco system is being installed in these areas instead, including new windows and doors.
Work on the site began this summer, with the goal of completing the most disruptive tasks – including any required demolition – before school reopens for students next Tuesday, September 8. Construction will continue through the fall and winter and is expected to conclude in spring 2027. The project will be completed in phases to avoid impacts to instructional time whenever possible. Although much of the work will be on the exterior of the building, there will also be some replacement of windows and doors.
I will keep you updated on the project as the work progresses. If you have any questions or concerns as the project gets underway, don’t hesitate to reach out to the school.
