I want to wish Mrs. Lawrance all the best in her new principalship at Laity View elementary. Joining me as vice principals are Lindsay Ross and Tammy Meyer. Together, we look forward to working with our staff and school community to \u00a0ensure our students have opportunities for great learning experiences.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong><u>special welcome<\/u><\/strong> to our new kindergarten students and students new to our school.<\/p>\n<p>Staff are working hard to prepare our school for start up, and we want to assure you that we are committed to supporting every student as we start this new school year. Our PAC is also actively planning another eventful year.<\/p>\n<p>Below, you will find key information to help support a smooth start for your child. You will be contacted regarding a specific scheduled appointment if necessary.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, September 6<sup>th<\/sup>to Friday, September 8<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Children will attend in small groups (approximately 10 students) for \u00bd a day, either in the morning or afternoon.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monday, September 11<sup>th<\/sup>to Tuesday, September 12<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You and your child will be provided with an opportunity to meet individually with your child\u2019s teacher.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, September 13<sup>th<\/sup>to Friday, September 15<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Children attend in their class group from 8:30 -1:30 pm.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Regular hours begin on Monday, September 18<sup>th<\/sup>, 8:30 \u2013 2:20 pm.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Your child is either in the AM (Morning) or PM (Afternoon) Group. \u00a0Please refer to your Parent Portal message for your child\u2019s group and\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress1.blob.core.windows.net\/yennadon\/2023\/07\/Kindergarten-Schedule-Web-2023.pdf\">see the attached letter and calendar for more details<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to having your child as part of our Yennadon family.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>FIRST WEEK SCHEDULE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Tuesday, September 5th Schedule (Grades 1 to 7)<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We look forward to welcoming students in grades 1 to 7 back to school this coming Tuesday, <strong>September 5 from 12:30 to 2:20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Returning students<\/strong> in grades 1 &#8211; When students are placed in the new classrooms, they will go home with a paper newsletter regarding their class placement. A notification will also be sent on the Parent Portal so you know to look for the newsletter in your child\u2019s backpack.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>What should your child bring to school in the first week<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please ensure that your child brings the following items to school:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a snack and a lunch<\/li>\n<li>a personal water bottle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please also ensure that your child is <strong>dressed appropriately for the weather<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Students will need to bring their <strong>school supplies<\/strong> once they are placed in their new classrooms.
