Where did May go?\u00a0 We have been very busy this month.\u00a0 Our students and staff have been hard at work with their lessons.\u00a0 They\u2019ve also been having a lot of fun with activities and field trips throughout the month.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Bike\/Walk\/Wheel to School Week, May 29th<\/sup> to June 2nd<\/sup><\/strong> \u2013 In order to encourage active school transportation, the PAC is offering students individual movie pass prizes, a class pizza party prize, and a grand prize of three season\u2019s passes to WildPlay for three lucky participants. Student participation will be tracked by classroom teachers daily.\u00a0 Check out this video link<\/span> https:\/\/youtu.be\/yipb1JZ9ugk<\/a>\u00a0for more details.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. SPCA Coin Drive Fundraiser, May 29th<\/sup> to June 2nd<\/sup><\/strong> \u2013 Last week, the news included an\u00a0SPCA\u00a0appeal. They are housing animals displaced by wildfires and need food to help all of these pets.\u00a0 Next week, Yennadon leadership is holding a coin drive to donate money to the SPCA so they can get the specific food they need for the pets they have in care.\u00a0 Each\u00a0day\u00a0will be\u00a0a\u00a0different coin type, increasing\u00a0as the week progresses.\u00a0 Monday \u2013 5\u00a2 nickels<\/strong>,<\/strong> Tuesday \u2013 10\u00a2 dimes, Wednesday \u2013 25\u00a2 quarters, Thursday \u2013 $1.00 loonies<\/strong>, and Friday \u2013 $2.00 toonies.\u00a0 <\/strong>Please give what you are able and\u00a0help us raise some money for the furry family members who truly cannot help themselves.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Primary District Cross Country RESCHEDULED (Albion Fairgrounds), Tues., May 30<\/strong> \u2013 The new location is the Albion Fairgrounds.<\/u><\/strong> Parking for east zone schools, which is Yennadon, is on the Sports Complex lot so we will have to walk a little bit further than usual.\u00a0\u00a0The run will start and finish near the Mainstage<\/u><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0We will also put up our school tent in this area.\u00a0 The race is approximately 1km and there will be spotters and arrows marking the course.\u00a0\u00a0Parents are responsible for transporting their own children to and from the race.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 The race will begin at approximately 3:15pm.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 Please be aware that traffic will be extremely congested so please give yourself extra time.\u00a0 <\/strong>Permission forms initially completed will be honoured for this new date.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Hot Dog\/TCBY Hot Lunch, Wed., May 31 <\/strong>\u2013 Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Roundabout Closed for Track & Field Rotations, Wed., May 31 from 1:00 \u2013 2:00pm<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Deadline to Order Pizza Hot Lunch (for June 9th<\/sup>), Wed., May 31<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at<\/span> Munch-a-Lunch<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  7. Creative Pack Student Supply Kits<\/strong> are available on the parent portal and the school website. All orders are completed online at<\/span>\u00a0https:\/\/creativepacks.ca\/collections\/packs\/yennadon-elementary-school+<\/strong><\/a> .\u00a0 Packs ordered by July 3rd<\/sup> receive free shipping to the school and will be distributed when we return to school in September.\u00a0 Packs ordered after July 3rd<\/sup> will include a shipping fee and will be shipped to your home.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
