Dear Yennadon Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

This week students and staff are encouraged to reduce their electricity, emissions, and waste footprints by taking part in Yennadon\u2019s Eco Week in support of SD42\u2019s Go Green Together Campaign during the month of April.\u00a0 Our intermediate students continue to practice for track and field, as such the roundabout is closed on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:45 \u2013 10:00am<\/strong> this week, weather permitting.\u00a0 Also, a reminder there is no school for students on Monday<\/strong> due to Easter Monday holiday.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week and our daily initiatives for Yennadon\u2019s Eco Week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Easter Monday Holiday, Mon., Apr. 10<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder school is not in session on Monday, April 10th<\/sup> due to Easter Monday holiday.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Eco Week Lights Out Lunch, Tues., Apr. 11<\/strong> \u2013 Students and staff are encouraged to reduce their electricity by turning off the lights during lunch.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Eco Week Waste Free Lunch, Wed., Apr. 12<\/strong> \u2013 Students and staff are encouraged to reduce their waste footprint by packing a waste free lunch.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Roundabout Closed for Track & Field, Wed., Apr. 12 from 8:45 \u2013 10:00am<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Eco Week Natural Light Classroom, Thurs., Apr. 13<\/strong> \u2013 Students and staff are encouraged to reduce their electricity by having a classroom lesson outside (and turning off the lights).<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Roundabout Closed for Track & Field, Thurs., Apr. 13 from 8:45 \u2013 10:00am<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Eco Week Walk and\/or Wheel to School, Fri., Apr. 14<\/strong> \u2013 Students and staff are encouraged to reduce their emissions by walking and\/or wheeling to school. If you live far away from the school, consider walking and\/or wheeling from Maple Ridge Park.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Pizza Hot Lunch, Fri., Apr. 14 <\/strong>\u2013 Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Kindergarten to Grade 7 Hip Hop Dance Program<\/strong> \u2013 We are excited to offer our students an opportunity to participate in a schoolwide Hip Hop Dance Program which runs for two weeks starting April 12th<\/sup>. Please submit payment for the $10 hip hop fee on the parent portal form by April 21st<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 Parents are invited to attend a show to watch their children perform on April 25th<\/sup>. \u00a0More information regarding performance times for each class to follow.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Student Learning Surveys <\/strong>\u2013 This year, parents of Grade 4 and 7 students do not need a logon code to access the online Student Learning Survey. Electronic surveying is available to parents of Grade 4 and 7 students until April 29th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The website to access the electronic survey is:\u00a0<\/span> http:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/sat_survey\/access.htm<\/a>.\u00a0 We request you please take 15 minutes of your time to fill this out.\u00a0 The more parents who complete these surveys, the higher quality of feedback we will receive.\u00a0 Your input is appreciated.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
