Thank you to our PAC for another fun filled and successful movie night last Friday.\u00a0 A reminder there is no school for students on Monday and Tuesday due to Family Day holiday and a district non-instructional day.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Wheelhouse and Late French Immersion Registration, February 15 to 24<\/strong> \u2013 Wheelhouse and Late French Immersion registration is available for these unique programs in our district.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Family Day Holiday, Mon., Feb. 20<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder school is not in session on Monday, February 20th<\/sup> due to Family Day holiday.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Non-Instructional Day, Tues., Feb. 21<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder there is no school for students on Tuesday, February 21st<\/sup> due to a non-instructional day.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Pink Shirt Day, Wed., Feb. 22<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The leadership team invites you to wear pink<\/strong> on Wednesday, February 22nd<\/sup> to support and promote kindness and inclusivity. A few police officers from our local detachment plan to visit the school today, provided there are no changes to their schedule, to collaborate with us on a Pink Shirt Day project.\u00a0 The goal is to completely cover a police vehicle with positive affirmations written on pink post-it-notes!<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Kindergarten Late Registration, February 22 to July 28 <\/strong>\u2013 Any child who turns 5 years old in 2023 (born in 2018) is eligible to register for the 2023\/24 school year.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Jump Rope for Heart, Thurs. and Fri., Feb. 23 and 24<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 We are hosting our schoolwide Jump event on Thursday and Friday. From now until our Jump event, students can exercise at school and at home.\u00a0 We invite you to be part of the movement!\u00a0 <\/strong>You can join our school\u2019s fundraising opportunity at<\/span> https:\/\/jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca\/19558<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Students will need your help to set up their fundraising page online.\u00a0 The safety and wellbeing of students, teachers, schools and communities is a top priority for Heart & Stroke which is why Jump continues to have fundraising fully online.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Pizza Hot Lunch, Fri., Feb. 24 <\/strong>\u2013 Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Book Swap Donations, Mon., Feb. 27 to Thurs., Mar. 2<\/strong> \u2013 S<\/strong>tudents may bring in books for donation between February 27th<\/sup> to March 2nd<\/sup><\/strong>. On Wednesday, March 8th<\/sup> each class will visit the Swap so that each student may choose out as many gently used books as they donated. Students may bring in a maximum of ten books<\/u> to swap.\u00a0 Please refer to the previous parent portal message for details about criteria for donating books to the Swap.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. PAC Meeting, Tues<\/strong>., Feb. 28 at 7:00 pm<\/strong> \u2013 Please join us for this month\u2019s PAC Meeting in the library of the main building.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Three Way Reporting Conferences, Mar. 2 (early dismissal at 11:30am) and Mar. 3<\/strong> \u2013 Our teachers have put out a sign up for term 2 conferences on the parent portal. You have the option to conference in person or online.\u00a0 Please be sure you sign up during the allotted time if your teacher has asked for online\/in person conferences to be separated.\u00a0 This is an important time where your child will be showing their learning for the term and setting goals for term 3.\u00a0 As such, please try to find alternated arrangements for your other children.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
