Dear Yennadon Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

February is now upon us, and we\u2019ve already had such a wonderful first few days of learning.\u00a0 Yennadon is going to be a very busy place in the coming weeks!\u00a0 Thank you to our PAC and Leadership Team for organizing two special treat days last week.\u00a0 The hot chocolate and donuts were delicious!\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Kindergarten General Registration, February 1 to 7 <\/strong>\u2013 Any child who turns 5 years old in 2023 (born in 2018) is eligible to register for the 2023\/24 school year.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Grade 8 Registration, February 2 to 17 <\/strong>\u2013 The Grade 8 Transfer Period<\/em> opens at 12:00 noon on Thursday. All Grade 8 transfers (registrations) are done through the Parent Portal.\u00a0 In-District (Yennadon) students submit an Existing Student Transfer Request<\/em> in the Grade 8 Transfer Period<\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Pizza Hot Lunch, Fri., Feb. 10 <\/strong>\u2013 Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Valentine\u2019s Day, Tues<\/strong>., Feb. 14<\/strong> \u2013 With Valentine\u2019s Day approaching, here are some reminders. Valentine card exchange is permitted, with no restrictions regarding what type of card this year.\u00a0 We still are not permitted to allow homemade food items into schools. Only commercially prepared items are permitted and do not<\/u> have to be individually packaged.\u00a0 Although individually packaged items are easier to distribute.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Deadline to Order Pizza Hot Lunch (for Feb. 24th<\/sup>), Tues., Feb. 14<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at<\/span> Munch-a-Lunch<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  6. Wheelhouse and Late French Immersion Registration, February 15 to 24<\/strong> \u2013 Wheelhouse and Late French Immersion registration is available for these unique programs in our district.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Family Movie Night, Fri., Feb. 17<\/strong> \u2013 The PAC is hosting a family movie night in the main gym to view The Secret Life of Pets<\/em>. Admission is $1 per person and all guests require a pre-purchased ticket on<\/span> Munch-a-Lunch<\/a> (limited capacity).\u00a0 This is a family event so all children must be accompanied by a parent<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Family Day Holiday, Mon., Feb. 20<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder school is not in session on Monday, February 20th<\/sup> due to Family Day holiday.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Non-Instructional Day, Tues., Feb. 21<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder there is no school for students on Tuesday, February 21st<\/sup> due to a non-instructional day.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Jump Rope for Heart, Fri., Feb. 24<\/strong> \u2013 We are hosting our schoolwide Jump event on Friday, February 24th<\/sup>. From now until our Jump event, students can exercise at school and at home.\u00a0 We invite you to be part of the movement!\u00a0 <\/strong>You can join our school\u2019s fundraising opportunity at<\/span> https:\/\/jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca\/19558<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Students will need your help to set up their fundraising page online.\u00a0 The safety and wellbeing of students, teachers, schools and communities is a top priority for Heart & Stroke which is why Jump continues to have fundraising fully online.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
