Dear Yennadon Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

Congratulations to our students and staff for the excellent job with practicing our lockdown drills last week.\u00a0 As with fire drills and other safety programs, we want to familiarize students and staff with a procedure that they will be able to follow quickly, effectively, and safely.\u00a0 A reminder that Grade 8 registration opens at noon on the parent portal this Thursday.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Hot Chocolate Day, Tues., Jan. 31<\/strong> \u2013 Everyone will receive a free hot chocolate courtesy of the PAC. Please send your child(ren) to school with their own mug on Tuesday.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Deadline to Order Pizza Hot Lunch (for Feb. 10th<\/sup>), Tues., Jan. 31<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at<\/span> Munch-a-Lunch<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Kindergarten General Registration, February 1 to 7 <\/strong>\u2013 Any child who turns 5 years old in 2023 (born in 2018) is eligible to register for the 2023\/24 school year.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. February School Assembly, Wed., Feb. 1<\/strong> \u2013 Our next school assembly is this Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the gym for INTERMEDIATE students.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Grade 8 Registration, February 2 to 17 <\/strong>\u2013 The Grade 8 Transfer Period<\/em> opens at 12:00 noon on Thursday. All Grade 8 transfers (registrations) are done through the Parent Portal.\u00a0 In-District (Yennadon) students submit an Existing Student Transfer Request<\/em> in the Grade 8 Transfer Period<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Donut Day, Thurs<\/strong>., Feb. 2<\/strong> \u2013 The Leadership Team is selling donuts at recess on Thursday to raise money for Canuck Place Children\u2019s Hospice. Donuts cost $2 each.\u00a0 Bring money on Thursday.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. February is Kindness Month and Black History Month<\/strong> \u2013 We are planning a variety of schoolwide activities to promote February\u2019s theme of kindness and Black History Month.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
