Dear Yennadon Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

December is upon us, the snow is on the ground, and the longest term of the school year is drawing to a close.\u00a0 The halls are filled with the sound of music as the students prepare for the exciting Christmas Concerts that are to come.\u00a0 It is a fun time of year with many events of our neighbourhood to look forward to.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Yennadon Christmas Hamper Gift Card Drive<\/strong> \u2013 Once again we are requesting donations of gift cards to local stores for four specific families in our Yennadon community<\/strong>. \u00a0Donations can be given to classroom teachers by December 8th<\/sup>. If possible, please donate gift cards from these local stores<\/u>:\u00a0 Walmart, Superstore, FreshCo, No Frills, Save-on-Foods, Winners, Cineplex, Tim Hortons, McDonald\u2019s, London Drugs, and Shoppers Drug Mart.\u00a0 We currently do not have many gift cards, so we appreciate all gift card donations.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Spirit Day: <\/strong>Red<\/strong> and <\/strong>Green<\/strong> Day, Mon., Dec. 5<\/strong> \u2013 The Leadership Team invites you to participate in a red and green spirit day.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. White Spot Hot Lunch, Mon., Dec. 5<\/strong> \u2013 Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Spirit Day: Winter Wonderland Wednesday, Wed., Dec. 7<\/strong> \u2013 The Leadership Team invites you to participate in Winter Wonderland Wednesday by wearing blue<\/strong> and white<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. December School Assembly, Wed., Dec. 7<\/strong> \u2013 Our next school assembly (rescheduled from last week) is this Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the gym for INTERMEDIATE students.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Deadline to Order Pizza Hot Lunch (for Dec. 16th<\/sup>), Wed., Dec. 7<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at<\/span> Munch-a-Lunch<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  7. Lost and Found <\/strong>\u2013 Our Lost and Found is overflowing. We will display items in the main school hallway until Wednesday this week.\u00a0 Please encourage your children to take a look for items that may belong to them.\u00a0 We plan to pack up everything on Thursday to donate to charity.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Spirit Day: Fun Holiday Socks Day, Fri., Dec. 9<\/strong> \u2013 The Leadership Team invites you to participate in a fun holiday socks spirit day.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Deadline to Order Kindness\/Pink Shirts and Hoodies, Fri., Dec. 9<\/strong> \u2013 See the order form on the parent portal.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Photos with Student<\/u> Santa <\/strong>\u2013 Students in each pod will have an opportunity to get their photo taken with a\u00a0student<\/u><\/strong>Santa\u00a0<\/strong>from the Leadership Team at recess and\/or lunch on particular days.\u00a0 It is a great chance for the students to get their friends together and take a group photo with Santa.\u00a0 Every picture costs $1.00<\/strong>. For example, if a child wants just themself and \u2018Santa\u2019 it costs $1.00. If that child wants to have a picture with a sibling, they pay another $1.00. If they then want to be in a photo with a friend or two, they pay another $1.00.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Leadership Team will take photos by pods, however, if your child wants a photo with a friend or sibling from another pod<\/em>, they can do that as well.\u00a0 The dates for pods are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Portables<\/strong> \u2013 Monday, Dec. 5<\/span><\/p>\n

    Annex<\/strong> \u2013 Tuesday, Dec. 6 between recess and lunch<\/span><\/p>\n

    E & F<\/strong>\u00a0pod photos will be on Tuesday, Dec. 6 (Yip, Williams, McIntosh, Martin, Thorburn, Ternoway, Francis, Friesen, Bouey)<\/span><\/p>\n

    A & B<\/strong>\u00a0pod photos will be on Wednesday, Dec. 7 (Robertson, Funk, Miller, Leblanc, Matthew, Wilson, Williamson, Jakeway)<\/span><\/p>\n

    C & D<\/strong>\u00a0pod photos will be on Thursday, Dec. 8 (Butterworth, Holland, Owen, Kossaber-Graham, Sinow, Loutet, Baldassi)<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Anyone\u00a0who\u00a0missed photos\u00a0on their day \u2013 Friday, Dec. 9<\/span><\/p>\n

    *If your child wishes to get photos taken, please send their money to the school on their assigned photo day<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Spirit Day: Merry Monday, Mon., Dec. 12<\/strong> \u2013 The Leadership Team invites you to participate in Merry Monday by wearing any holiday accessories such as hats, antlers, jingle bells, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Christmas Concert Dates\/Classes, Tues. and Wed., Dec. 13 and 14 at 1pm and 6pm<\/strong> \u2013 Tickets from Round 1 Orders will be sent home with your child this week.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      TUESDAY <\/strong>\u2013 Linde, Paton, Edge, Leblanc, Dilley, Williamson, Sinow, Holland, Francis, Jakeway, Thorburn, McIntosh, Friesen, and the Choir<\/span><\/p>\n

      WEDNESDAY <\/strong>\u2013 Kocurek, Ludeman, Jennings, Butterworth, Robertson, Baldassi, Ternoway, Williams, Martin, Yip, Owen, Funk, and the Choir<\/span><\/p>\n

      In lieu of charging for tickets, we are asking for donations of either cash or non-perishable food items<\/strong>at our concert performances.\u00a0 All donations will be delivered to the Friends in Need Food Bank in Maple Ridge. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
