Dear Yennadon Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

W<\/span>e have had another busy week at Yennadon!\u00a0 <\/span>Many thanks to the PAC for organizing our first Halloween Family Dance which was a huge spooktacular success.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Yennadon Food Bank Drive, Oct. 24 \u2013 Nov. 1<\/strong> \u2013 Our Leadership Team is coordinating, promoting, and requesting donations of non-perishable\u00a0food items to help people in our community and the Friends in Need Food Bank. Yennadon has been an important supporter of our food bank every year for the past 12 years.\u00a0 Last year we contributed 2100 lbs of food items. Please help us beat that goal this year!\u00a0 The Friends in Need Food Bank continues to need all items and is thrilled to accept anything we have to offer, but they have put in a special request for the following items:\u00a0 canned vegetables, canned fruit, lunch-sized juice boxes, and small\u00a0canned fruit<\/em>\u00a0snack packs.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Taco Del Mar Hot Lunch, Mon., Oct. 24<\/strong> \u2013 Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Intermediate District Cross Country (Alouette Lake Beach), Tues., Oct. 25<\/strong> \u2013 In order to help alleviate some of the traffic and congestion issues, we encourage families and students to arrive 30 minutes prior toyour\u00a0\u00a0 For example, grade 5s need not be at Alouette Lake until 3:40pm and grade 6s can arrive just after 4:00pm as they have the last races of the day.\u00a0 Here is an approximate race schedule for the intermediate races:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      4. Meridian Farm Market Gift Card <\/strong>Fundraiser <\/strong>\u2013 Grade 6\/7 students are selling Meridian Farm Market Gift Cards as a fundraiser for camp. Meridian generously gives us 30% of the cost of the card towards our fundraiser.\u00a0 Cards come in denominations of $10, $25, $50, $75, or $100.\u00a0 Cards will arrive at the school in early November, and we will notify you through the portal when they are being sent home with students.\u00a0 See the portal message under Forms to place your order.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      5. Halloween Costumes at School<\/strong> \u2013 Each year we get questions about what is allowed and not allowed at school. At Yennadon, we are requesting that students do not bring any costume masks, costume accessories (for example wands, weapons, light sabers), or homemade food items<\/u> (to share) to school.\u00a0 <\/strong>Please also read the<\/span> letter to parents from our Superintendent about Halloween costumes<\/a> and a safe and inclusive Halloween for more information.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
