Dear Yennadon Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

We have had another great, albeit short, week at Yennadon!\u00a0 We are excited about returning to offering field trips for our students.\u00a0 Our teachers have been planning all sorts of great visits to some wonderful venues.\u00a0 Thank you for your support and help driving for our various field trips.\u00a0 If you can help us drive, please note that we now require (a) the<\/span> volunteer driver’s form<\/a>, (b) the<\/span> volunteer application\/consent form<\/a>, (c) proof of insurance (with your name on it either as the principal or another designated driver), and (d) your<\/span> driver’s abstract <\/a>from ICBC.\u00a0 You can drop them off as hard copies or email scans\/photos of them to us at<\/span> yen_reception@sd42.ca<\/a>.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Scholastic Book Fair, Oct. 17 to 19<\/strong> \u2013 The Book Fair will still be operating with COVID safety precautions. There is only\u00a0in school<\/u>\u00a0shopping<\/strong>\u00a0within students\u2019 classes again this year.\u00a0 Classes will have a preview time to see what they love and bring the information home to parents.\u00a0 They will then have a shopping time where they can bring in their money and purchase their items within their classes\u2019 scheduled time.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. PAC Meeting (Virtual), Tues., Oct. 18 at 7:00 pm<\/strong> \u2013 RSVP required by emailing<\/span> yennadonpac@gmail.com<\/a> by Sunday, October 16th<\/sup> at noon. Only those who RSVP will receive a Zoom link to the meeting.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Individual Photo Retakes, Wed., Oct. 19<\/strong> \u2013 If your child was absent on photo day, then Photo Retakes are in the morning at the main school on Wednesday, October 19th<\/sup>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. ShakeOut BC \u2013 Earthquake Drill, Thurs., Oct. 20<\/strong> \u2013 The Great British Columbia ShakeOut is an annual opportunity to practice how to be safer during big earthquakes by practicing how to \u2018Drop, Cover, and Hold On\u2019. We encourage all of our families to review and update your emergency preparedness plans and supplies.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. PAC Halloween Family Dance, Thurs., Oct. 20 from 6:00 \u2013 8:00 pm<\/strong> \u2013 Thank you for your support! This family event is sold out<\/u><\/strong>!\u00a0 A reminder that all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian<\/strong>.\u00a0 Costumes are encouraged; however, please be mindful that this is a Kindergarten \u2013 Gr. 7 event and open to siblings who may be younger.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Non-Instructional Day, Fri., Oct. 21<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder there is no school for students on Friday, October 21st<\/sup>due to a non-instructional day.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Individual Photo Orders due Thurs., Oct. 31<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder, to avoid the ship-to-home cost, please order your child\u2019s photo package before October 31st<\/sup> and photos will be shipped to the school for distribution. <\/strong>To save $5 off shipping, enter the following coupon code at checkout: YENNADONFREESHIPPING<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Meridian Farm Market Gift Card <\/strong>Fundraiser <\/strong>\u2013 Grade 6\/7 students are selling Meridian Farm Market Gift Cards as a fundraiser for camp. Meridian generously gives us 30% of the cost of the card towards our fundraiser.\u00a0 Cards come in denominations of $10, $25, $50, $75, or $100.\u00a0 Cards will arrive at the school in early November, and we will notify you through the portal when they are being sent home with students.\u00a0 See the portal message under Forms to place your order.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
