Dear Yennadon Teachers and Staff,
Tomorrow marks 50 days since the Ministry of Education responded to COVID19 and placed temporary changes on the way our children would participate in schools across BC, with their classmates and teachers.
On behalf of the students and parents of our Yennadon Community, we want to express a huge thank you! Teachers and EAs thank you for adapting and trying new ways to stay connected, continuing to provide and support our children’s education. We understand too the complexity of working from home, let alone runningan entire virtual classroom out of your home. You have our gratitude of your effort to learn new technology, new programs and new ways to deliver and distribute lessons. We know it is challenging to gage, how much is too much or how much is too little to send home to students as every home has different time and abilities. We recognize not every family has access to internet, a printer or the same technology. We have seen the care that has gone into connecting with every parent to support and provide tools so that every student has the opportunity to participate. We see the level of effort that goes into each zoom class, email and audio message. Thank you. Thank you for every thoughtful decision, thank you for every effort you put into creating your virtual classroom, thank you for all that you do to ensure our children feel supported, thank you for ensuring our children receive an education during these challenging times. Thank you.
Behind every great teacher is an enormous network and community of people to support them in delivering quality education to our children – a special thanks also to the support staff, custodial staff, and administration!
In celebration of National Teacher’s Day, we wanted to take a moment to share a video from your students. We hope you are doing well, and we all miss you very much. We hope to see you all again very soon!
