Dear Yennadon Families,
Thank you for driving our students to the SD42 Cross Country events. Our students did very well at both the primary and intermediate races. Way to go, Yennadon! Congratulations to Mrs. Escueta and the Yennadon Intermediate Singers for a howling good concert with Canadian singer/song writer Norman Foote at The ACT on Sunday. It was a spooktacular performance! Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.
- Yennadon Food Bank Drive, Oct. 24 – Nov. 2 – Our Leadership Team is coordinating, promoting, and requesting donations of non-perishable food items to help people in our community and the Friends in Need Food Bank. The Friends in Need Food Bank continues to need all items and is thrilled to accept anything we have to offer, but they have put in a special request for the following items: canned vegetables, canned fruit, lunch-sized juice boxes, and small canned fruit snack packs.
- Halloween Costumes at School – Each year we get questions about what is allowed and not allowed at school. At Yennadon, we are requesting that students do not bring any costume masks, costume accessories (for example wands, weapons, light sabers), or homemade food items (to share) to school. Please also read the letter to parents from our Superintendent about Halloween costumes and a safe and inclusive Halloween for more information.
- Individual Photo Orders due Mon., Oct. 31 – A reminder, to avoid the ship-to-home cost, please order your child’s photo package by October 31st and photos will be shipped to the school for distribution. To save $5 off shipping, enter the following coupon code at checkout: YENNADONFREESHIPPING
- Spirit Day: Pajama Day, Tues., Nov. 1 – The Leadership Team invites you to participate in a pajama day spirit day.
- Daylight Savings Time – Daylight savings time occurs this weekend. Remember to turn your clocks back one hour.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lawrance
