November 21st Update to Families

Dear Yennadon Families,

Congratulations to our Girls’ Competitive Volleyball Team for heading into the playoffs next week undefeated.  Way to go, Eagles!  Their first play-off game is on Thursday, November 24th at 3:15pm at Garibaldi Secondary.  We wish them the best of luck!  Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.

  1. Grade 6 Immunizations, Mon., Nov. 21 – Fraser Health is coming in the morning for these student immunizations.
  2. From Ballet to B-Boy ArtStarts Performance, Wed., Nov. 23 – This year’s ArtStarts performance is for our intermediate students.
  3. Girls’ Competitive Volleyball Play-Offs, Thurs., Nov. 24 at 3:15 pm – We invite you to Garibaldi Secondary to come and cheer on our team. They play again either at 5:15pm or 6:15pm depending on results of their first game.
  4. Spirit Day: Plaid Day, Fri., Nov. 25 – The Leadership Team invites you to participate in a plaid day spirit day.
  5. Deadline to Order White Spot Hot Lunch (for Dec. 5th), Fri., Nov. 25 – A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at Munch-a-Lunch.
  6. PAC BINGO Night Fundraiser, Fri., Nov. 25 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm – For those who have tickets, a reminder that this PAC fundraiser is an adult only event.
  7. Yennadon Christmas Hamper Gift Card Drive, Nov. 23 – Dec. 8 – Once again we are requesting donations of gift cards to local stores for four specific families in our Yennadon community.  Donations can be given to classroom teachers by December 8th. If possible, please donate gift cards from these preferred stores:  Walmart, Superstore, FreshCo, Save-on-Foods, Winners, Cineplex, Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, London Drugs, and Shoppers Drug Mart.
  8. Poinsettias, Wreaths, and Planters Fundraiser – Grade 6/7 students are selling poinsettias, wreaths, planters, and greenery as a fundraiser for camp. Poinsettias will arrive at the school on December 6th for pick up between 1:00 to 5:00pm in the main school gym.  Follow the link below to place your order.  Deadline to order is Tuesday, November 22nd.

  1. Gift Card Fundraiser – Grade 6/7 students are selling a variety of gift cards as a fundraiser for camp. Gift cards will arrive at the school early December and will be sent home with students.  See the parent portal message to place your order and send to the school.  Deadline to order is Wednesday, November 30th.
  2. Three Way Reporting Conferences, Dec. 1 (early dismissal at 11:30am) and Dec. 2 – Our teachers have put out a sign up for term 1 conferences on the parent portal. You have the option to conference in person or online.  Please be sure you sign up during the allotted time if your teacher has asked for online/in person conferences to be separated.  This is an important time where your child will be showing their learning for the term and setting goals for term 2.  As such, please try to find alternated arrangements for your other children.
