May 22nd Update to Families

Whew!  What a week!  The weather heated up and our schedule has heated up as well.  Last week we participated in the district intermediate cross country race.  Congratulations to all participants and thank you to our staff who volunteered at the event and thank you parents for driving your children to and from Alouette Lake.  A reminder that school is closed on Monday due to Victoria Day holiday.  Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week. 

  1. Victoria Day Holiday, Mon., May 22 – A reminder school is not in session on Monday, May 22nd due to Victoria Day holiday.
  2. Deadline to Order 2022-2023 Yearbooks, Tues., May 23 – Once again our school is producing a full-colour yearbook that is sure to be a treasured memory for years to come. The cost per book is $25.00 including taxes.  Please submit your order and payment via the parent portal form by Tuesday, May 23rd.
  3. Grade 7 Full Day Visit to High Schools, Wed., May 24 – Today, our Grade 7s visit their prospective high schools for an orientation. Information has been provided by each secondary school. 
  4. Roundabout Closed for Track & Field Rotations, Thurs., May 25 from 9:00 – 10:00am.
  5. Deadline to Order Hot Dog/TCBY Hot Lunch (for May 31st), Thurs., May 25 – A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at Munch-a-Lunch.
  6. Spirit Day – Pajama Day! Fri., May 26 – The leadership team invites students to wear their pajamas on Friday.
  7. Pizza Hot Lunch, Fri., May 26 – Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.
  8. Bike/Walk/Wheel to School Week, May 29th to June 2nd – In order to encourage active school transportation, the PAC is offering students individual movie pass prizes, a class pizza party prize, and a grand prize of a season’s pass to WildPlay for one lucky participant.   9. Creative Pack Student Supply Kits are available on the parent portal and the school website. All orders are completed online at https://creativepacks.ca/collections/packs/yennadon-elementary-school+ .  Packs ordered by July 3rd receive free shipping to the school and will be distributed when we return to school in September.  Packs ordered after July 3rd will include a shipping fee and will be shipped to your home.
