May 15th Update to Families

Dear Yennadon Families,

Every mother is amazing!  Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms everywhere!  A huge thank you to the PAC for the treats, luncheon, and lovely plants to celebrate Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week last week.  Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week. 

1. White Spot Hot Lunch, Mon., May 15 – Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.
2. Roundabout Closed for HUB Cycling Program, Tues., May 16 from 9:00am – 2:20pm.
3. Intermediate District Cross Country (Alouette Lake Beach), Tues., May 16 – In order to help alleviate some of the traffic and congestion issues, we encourage families and students to arrive 30 minutes prior toyour   For example, grade 5s need not be at Alouette Lake until 3:30pm and grade 6s can arrive just around 4:00pm as they have the last races of the day.  Here is an approximate race schedule for the intermediate races:

3:32 (Grade 7 boys)

3:44 (Grade 4 girls)

3:56 (Grade 4 boys)

4:08 (Grade 5 girls)

4. PAC Meeting, Tues., May 16 – A reminder of the upcoming general PAC meeting at 7pm in the main school library.
5. Class and Group/Team Photo Day, Wed., May 17 – Class photographs for each division are scheduled for Wednesday, rain or shine.
6. Roundabout Closed for Track & Field Rotations, Wed., May 17 from 1:00 – 2:00pm.
7. Deadline to Order Pizza Hot Lunch (for May 26^th), Wed., May 17 – A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at Munch-a-Lunch.
8. Primary District Cross Country (Albion Sports Complex), Wed., May 17 – In order to help alleviate some of the traffic and congestion issues, we encourage families and students to arrive 30 minutes prior toyour   For example, grade 3s need not arrive until 3:45pm as they have the last races of the day.  Here is an approximate race schedule for the primary races:

9. Watch for HUB Cyclists on Neighbourhood Roads, Thurs., May 18 from 9:00am – 2:20pm.

11. Victoria Day Holiday, Mon., May 22 – A reminder school is not in session on Monday, May 22^nd due to Victoria Day holiday.
12. Deadline to Order 2022-2023 Yearbooks, Tues., May 23 – Once again our school is producing a full-colour yearbook that is sure to be a treasured memory for years to come. The cost per book is $25.00 including taxes.  Please submit your order and payment via the parent portal form by Tuesday, May 23^rd.
13. Creative Pack Student Supply Kits are available on the parent portal and the school website. All orders are completed online at https://creativepacks.ca/collections/packs/yennadon-elementary-school+.  Packs ordered by July 3^rd receive free shipping to the school and will be distributed when we return to school in September.  Packs ordered after July 3^rd will include a shipping fee and will be shipped to your home.
