June 5th Update to Families

Dear Yennadon Families,

Thank you for your participation in Bike/Walk/Wheel to School Week last week.  A huge thank you to the PAC for donating all of the student and class incentive prizes.  In anticipation of the warmer days ahead, please ensure your children are dressed appropriately for sunny weather, which includes lightweight, breathable clothing, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.  Encourage your children to stay hydrated and please send them to school with water bottles.  Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week. 

  1. Deadline to Order Hot Dog/TCBY Hot Lunch (for June 12th), Tues., June 6 – A reminder that hot lunch meals must be pre-ordered online at Munch-a-Lunch.
  2. PAC Meeting, Tues., June 6 – A reminder of the upcoming general PAC meeting at 7pm in the main school, Room 1077 (enter through the front doors and turn right into C-Pod).
  3. May School Assembly, Wed., June 7 – Our next school assembly is this Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the gym for INTERMEDIATE students.
  4. Roundabout Closed for Track & Field Rotations, Wed., June 7 from 1:00 – 2:00pm.
  5. Young Entrepreneurs Fair, Thurs., June 8 from 9:00am to 2:00 pm (closed 10:20-10:35 and 11:50-12:30) – Ms. McIntosh’s class invites parents, staff, and students to attend their Young Entrepreneurs Show. This is a great event for other students to be inspired, to learn about business, and to have fun.  Students visit this showcase event with their classes during regular school hours.  Both students and parents may want to bring along a nominal amount of money for spending – there are a lot of homemade creative products to choose from.  Prices generally range from $1 to $10.
  6. Pizza Hot Lunch, Fri., June 8 – Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.
  7. Yennadon Library Closes, Mon., June 12 – Please take a good look under and behind the beds and the couches, between the cushions, and especially on your bookshelves to see if there are any Yennadon materials in your home. All books must be returned by Monday, June 12th so Mrs. White can begin our library’s inventory. 
  8. Hot Dog/TCBY Hot Lunch, Mon., June 12 – Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.
  9. Creative Pack Student Supply Kits are available on the parent portal and the school website. All orders are completed online at https://creativepacks.ca/collections/packs/yennadon-elementary-school+ .  Packs ordered by July 3rd receive free shipping to the school and will be distributed when we return to school in September.  Packs ordered after July 3rd will include a shipping fee and will be shipped to your home.
