June 26th Update to Families

Dear Yennadon Families,

The year has certainly flown by and summer is now upon us – especially with the long awaited sunshine!  We would like to thank all of the students, parents, teachers, and school staff for an excellent school year at Yennadon Elementary!  On behalf of all the staff at Yennadon, we wish you a safe, happy, and relaxing summer!  Please review the information below for some details about the last week of school. 

  1. Annex Fun Day Stations from 8:45 – 11:30 am, Wed., June 28 – Several of our Annex classes will rotate through a few stations which may be located inside the Annex or at the Annex parking lot/garden. Plans may change depending on the weather.
  2. Grade 7 Leaving Assembly at 9:00 am, Wed., June 28 – We look forward to celebrating the transition of our Grade 7 students and wish them every success as they continue their education at secondary school.
  3. Year End Virtual In-School Assembly, Thurs., June 29 – As a school we are celebrating this school year and saying a few farewells in a virtual assembly.
  4. Last Day of School for Students, Thurs. June 29 – The last official day of school for students is Thursday, June 29th. Final report cards will either come home with students on their last day of in-class instruction or be sent electronically via the Parent Portal. Dismissal is at 12:00 noon.
  5. Yennadon Library Closed – Please take a good look under and behind the beds and the couches, between the cushions, and especially on your bookshelves to see if there are any Yennadon materials in your home. All books must be returned by so Mrs. White can complete our library’s inventory.
  6. Creative Pack Student Supply Kits are available on the parent portal and the school website. All orders are completed online at https://creativepacks.ca/collections/packs/yennadon-elementary-school+ .  Packs ordered by July 3rd receive free shipping to the school and will be distributed when we return to school in September.  Packs ordered after July 3rd will include a shipping fee and will be shipped to your home. 
  7. School Re-Opens for Students at 12:30 pm on Tues., Sept. 5 – Tuesday, September 5th at 12:30pmis the first day back for students going into Grades 1 through 7 for the 2023-2024 school year. On the first day back to school, students return to their previous classrooms.  Dismissal is at 2:20pm.  New Kindergarten students will receive a letter of instruction via the parent portal regarding their first day of school.
