June 19th Update to Families

Dear Yennadon Families,

Every father is amazing!  Happy Father’s Day to all the dads everywhere!  Last week we participated in the district intermediate track and field event.  Congratulations to all participants and thank you to our staff who volunteered at the event and thank you parents for driving your children to and from MRSS.  Congratulations also to Mrs. McIntosh’s Grade 5 students for their successful Entrepreneur Fair.  The students are donating 20% of their profit to the SPCA, which totals $390.40.  Way to go, Division 8!  Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week. 

  1. National Indigenous Peoples Day, Wed., June 21 – We invite everyone to wear orange
  2. Annex Fun Day Stations from 8:45 – 11:45 am, Wed., June 21 – Several of our Annex classes will rotate through a few stations which may be located inside the Annex or at the Annex parking lot/garden. Plans may change depending on the weather.
  3. Primary Fun Day/National Indigenous Peoples Day Stations from 10:40 – 11:40 am, Wed., June 21– Several of our primary classes will rotate through a few stations which may be located on the field or inside classrooms. Plans may change depending on the weather. 
  4. Roundabout Closed for Grade 6/7 Buses Returning from Camp, Wed., June 21 from 1:00 – 2:00pm.
  5. Pizza Hot Lunch, Fri., June 23 – Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.
  6. Yennadon Library Closed – Please take a good look under and behind the beds and the couches, between the cushions, and especially on your bookshelves to see if there are any Yennadon materials in your home. All books must be returned by so Mrs. White can complete our library’s inventory.
  7. Lost and Found – Our Lost and Found is overflowing. We will display items in the main school front entrance for another week.  Please encourage your children to take a look for items that may belong to them.  We plan to pack up everything at the end of the day on Friday, June 23rd to donate to charity.
  8. Creative Pack Student Supply Kits are available on the parent portal and the school website. All orders are completed online at https://creativepacks.ca/collections/packs/yennadon-elementary-school+ .  Packs ordered by July 3rd receive free shipping to the school and will be distributed when we return to school in September.  Packs ordered after July 3rd will include a shipping fee and will be shipped to your home.
