February 27th Update to Families

Dear Yennadon Families,

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!  A reminder to check the school district website at www.sd42.ca for updates regarding school closures due to extreme weather conditions.  When schools are closed, we cannot make calls home to let you know; nor, can we answer all the phone calls asking if school is open.  Also, a reminder our reporting conferences are this week, as such we dismiss early on Thursday and there is no school on Friday.  Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.  

  1. Book Swap Donations, Mon., Feb. 27 to Thurs., Mar. 2 – Students may bring in books for donation between February 27th to March 2nd. On Wednesday, March 8th each class will visit the Swap so that each student may choose out as many gently used books as they donated. Students may bring in a maximum of ten books to swap.  Please refer to the previous parent portal message for details about criteria for donating books to the Swap. 
  2. PAC Meeting, Tues., Feb. 28 at 7:00 pm – Please join us for this month’s PAC Meeting in the library of the main building.
  3. March School Assembly, Wed., Mar. 1 – Our next school assembly is this Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the gym for PRIMARY students.
  4. Booster Juice Hot Lunch, Wed., Mar. 1 – Thank you to our PAC for organizing and offering hot lunches.
  5. Art Card Fundraiser Orders DUE, Wed., Mar. 1 – Please follow the instructions to order online and return your child’s artwork to school (if it was sent home to preview).
  6. Three Way Reporting Conferences, Mar. 2 (early dismissal at 11:30am) and Mar. 3 – A reminder our reporting conferences are this week, as such we dismiss early on Thursday and there is no school on Friday. This is an important time where your child will be showing their learning for the term and setting goals for term 3.  As such, please try to find alternate arrangements for your other children.
  7. Lost and Found – Our Lost and Found is overflowing. We will display items in the main school hallway this week and next week.  Please encourage your children to take a look for items that may belong to them.  We plan to pack up everything at the end of the day on Friday, March 10th to donate to charity.
  8. Third Annual Book Swap, Wed., Mar. 8 – On Wednesday, March 8th classes will visit the Swap so that each student may choose out as many gently used books as they donated.
