Acts of kindness have been particularly noticeable this week. Students have been holding doors open for each other and including each other in games on the playground. This is the \u201ckiss n\u2019 go\u201d option. Please pull over to the right (do not exit your vehicle) and allow your student(s) to exit your vehicle. If your student needs more time to say goodbye in the morning, or you need to exit your vehicle for any reason, utilize the \u201cneighbourhood parking\u201d option. Please avoid stopping to pick up your student(s) on River Rd. A photo of available local parking is attached for your convenience. Let\u2019s work together to keep our children safe.<\/p>\n<p>The driveway at the front of the school is closed to vehicles at the end of the day to prioritize student safety, except for buses and vehicles with an accessibility decal. Avoid stopping to pick up your student(s) on River Rd. <strong><u>Please do not park in either of the staff parking lots. Students are present in these areas after school and traffic needs to be limited for student safety reasons.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASS PLACEMENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will soon be beginning to create preliminary class lists for next year.\u00a0Please be assured that staff devote considerable time, care, and attention to this process.\u00a0This very complex and lengthy responsibility occurs over several weeks and continues into September when class placements are finalized.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year, there have been many opportunities for parents and teachers to observe, discuss, and get to know the students. Staff work together to consider social-emotional skills and relationships,\u00a0as well as\u00a0learning styles, strengths and needs as placements are made.\u00a0Our goal is to create safe, engaging, and inclusive classrooms that balance these factors as equitably as possible.<\/p>\n<p>If you feel there is further information to consider about your child, you may submit input to the principal (chelsea_lendvoy@sd42.ca) by email before May 30th, 2025.\u00a0Please refrain from requesting specific teachers or peers by name.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS FAIR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The YE fair is coming up on Wednesday April 30th. Mrs. Pajak\u2019s and M. Gosselin\u2019s classes will be selling products such as keychains, lightsabers, slime, handcrafted jewelry, stickers, plushies and much more! Prices will range from $1 to $10. Please bring small bills or change to purchase items. We will be donating 25% of the profits to BC Children\u2019s Hospital. Please come out to support this important cause. Parents and other family members are welcome to attend the fair. Note, the fair will be closed at recess (10:20-10:35) and lunch (12:00-12:40). Students learn French while learning all subject areas of the curriculum. Students who are currently in Grade 5 are eligible to begin Late French Immersion in September 2025 at Golden Ears Elementary. It provides drop-in counselling as well as various social events that your child can attend.
