See you in 2025!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>FIRST WEEK OF TERM 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monday, Jan. 6<sup>th<\/sup> <sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, Jan. 7<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, Jan. 8<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Thursday, Jan. 9<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Friday, Jan 10<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>PAC Hot Lunch \u2013 Hot Dog Day<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MRE BREAKFAST PROGRAM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Did you know our school has a\u00a0breakfast\u00a0program\u00a0for students in need?\u00a0 The\u00a0program\u00a0is open every morning from 8:00-8:25 and takes place in Ms. Cora\u2019s room.\u00a0 If your child is in need of\u00a0breakfast\u00a0to start their day please email Cora (<a href=\"mailto:cora_lindgren@sd42.ca\">cora_lindgren@sd42.ca<\/a>).\u00a0 Please also indicate if your child requires supervision from 8:00-8:25 or if they can be dismissed outside (unsupervised) after they finish eating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES:\u00a0SNOW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the weather cools, please review the school district\u2019s inclement weather procedures as they relate to snowfall and possible school closures.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to close schools due to accumulating snowfall is ultimately the responsibility of the superintendent, who must balance the safety of students, staff and parents with the need to provide learning. Parents\/guardians have primary responsibility for their children\u2019s safe travel to school. If, for any reason, there are personal concerns about the ability to travel safely to school, other arrangements should be made.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education Assistant Program at Ridge Meadows College<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you or someone you know may be interested in a career working with children and youth with diverse abilities, Ridge Meadows College (operated by SD42) still has seats available for the January 2025 cohort of its Education Assistant (EA) program. The demand for this job is high as the province faces a shortage of EAs and virtually all graduates of the program move on to work in school districts across B.C., including Maple Ridge \u2013 Pitt Meadows School District No. 42. It\u2019s only $1 for youth (13-18Y) and seniors (60Y+) and $2 for adults (19-59Y). Enjoy a variety of activities including billiards, ping pong, video games, retro arcade and board games. There is also a concession with food and drinks.<\/p>\n<p>Our Recreation team will be on hand to supervise, but please remember that this is a parent-led program.
