See you back at school on April 2<sup>nd<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BASKETBALL TEAMS <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are very proud of our three basketball teams that participated this season at MRE.\u00a0 Not only did everyone improve their skills, but our players consistently demonstrated respect and sportsmanship. We are proud of everyone who played this season and grateful to our coaches Mrs. McClain and Mrs. Pajak for their hard work and dedication.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPRING BREAK \u2013 READING <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spring Break will be here in no time.\u00a0 If you are looking for an activity to do with your child, teachers will be sending home a Spring Break Reading challenge.\u00a0 Students who complete and return to the office by April 5<sup>th<\/sup> will receive a prize.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can also check out our school library\u2019s online resources to support your child\u2019s reading.\u00a0 Simply visit: <a href=\"https:\/\/sd42.libguides.com\/mrelibrary\">https:\/\/sd42.libguides.com\/mrelibrary<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>VANCOUVER GIANTS TICKETS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our school participated in the \u201cBe A Giant\u201d Program this fall.\u00a0 Students who have completed their \u201cGiant\u2019s Report Card\u201d will receive a free ticket to the March 15<sup>th<\/sup> game!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once complete, return your \u201creport card\u201d and receive a form to order additional adult tickets.\u00a0 Submit this form with payment to the office before March 10<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the March 15<sup>th<\/sup> game the Giants will be reserving a section of seats for Maple Ridge Elementary.\u00a0 We look forward to enjoying a fun evening with our school community!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>LOST AND FOUND<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The lost and found is so full! Patrons just must mention MRE grad, and a portion of your purchase will be donated back to the school and used for the Grade 7 Leaving Event. Thank you!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>VISITORS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A reminder that if you are visiting the school to please come to the office and check-in. We require all visitors and volunteers to wear a \u201cvisitor pass\u201d in order to ensure the security of staff and students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEALTH AWARENESS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are continuing to practice Health Awareness this year for everyone entering our school \u2013 this includes staff, students, and visitors. Health awareness includes checking regularly for any symptoms of illness (including, but not limited to,\u202f<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bccdc.ca\/health-info\/diseases-conditions\/covid-19\">COVID-19 symptoms<\/a>) and staying home when sick.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ATTENDANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you know that your child is going to be late or absent from school, please let us know through either the parent portal, by calling us at 604-467-5551 or by emailing <a href=\"mailto:mre_reception@sd42.ca\">mre_reception@sd42.ca<\/a>. If you know your child will be absent multiple days in a row you can enter them all at once so that you do not need to update it each day.\u00a0\u00a0If your child will be absent due to a communicable disease (ex. It provides drop-in counselling as well as various social events that your child can attend.
