Maple Ridge Elementary<\/strong><\/p>\n Friday, June 2, 2023<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n HOT LUNCHES<\/strong><\/p>\n Friday June 16 – Hot Lunch\/Carnival (Pizza Pizza)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>USED BOOK FAIR \u2013 June 8th<\/sup> & 9th<\/sup> <\/strong><\/p>\n The MRE PAC is having its first Used Book-Fair on June 8th and 9th.<\/p>\n The committee has collected over 1000 items, ranging from preschool books to novels!<\/p>\n Please send your child to school with $2 to pick a book. \u00a0Teachers will collect the money beforehand, and the class will shop during their designated time\/day. All students will be included, whether they bring money or not. The Fair will also be open after school from 2:30 to 3:00 on both days, for students to purchase additional books.<\/p>\n This is a cash only school fundraiser and no change will be given. Just drop your $2 per book in the box. See you there.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n IT\u2019S ALMOST CARNIVAL TIME \u2013 June 16th<\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n The MRE Carnival, organized by PAC members, is a highlight of the year.\u00a0 Many<\/strong> volunteers are needed.<\/p>\n Please join us during the school day on June 16th<\/sup> and sign up to help make this an amazing and memorable day for the kids! Many stud ents walked, biked, scootered this week.\u00a0 It was great to see so many people getting active and enjoying the beautiful weather.\u00a0 Feel free to consider continuing to use a physically active means of transportation for the rest of the school year if it suits you!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n SCHOOL SUPPLIES <\/strong><\/p>\n Supplies for students in grade K-3 are provided for a flat fee that can be paid in September.<\/p>\n $55 for kindergarten<\/p>\n $50-$60 for grades 1-3, depending on whether a planner is used.<\/p>\n If you experience financial hardship with the costs associated with purchasing your child\u2019s school supplies, please contact the school for support.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n For Intermediate Students Grade 4-7 <\/strong><\/p>\n Get ahead on your to-do list by purchasing your child\u2019s school supplies for September now! See below for information on how to order a Creative Pack filled with all the teacher-approved school supplies your child will need. If you don\u2019t want to purchase a Creative Pack, supplies lists are also attached to this edition of the Friday Blast.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n CANDY & FREEZIE SALE<\/strong><\/p>\n On Monday June 5th<\/sup> there will be a candy AND freezie sale after school. French Immersion students will be fundraising for a Grade 7 trip to Quebec next year.<\/p>\n The sale will take place at the front entrance of the school and on the basketball court behind Mrs. Span and Mme Alliette\u2019s classrooms.<\/p>\n Freezies will cost $1 and bags of candy will cost $2. Hope to see you there!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n ARE YOU MOVING?<\/strong><\/p>\n Schools are making preparations for September 2023.<\/p>\n If you know that you will be moving and not attending MRE for the 2023-24 school year, please visit the school district website\u00a0https:\/\/www.sd42.ca\/student-registration\/<\/a>\u00a0 for registration and transfer information.<\/p>\n If your child is planning to attend school\u00a0outside<\/strong>\u00a0of SD42 for the current school year, please complete our withdrawal form on the Parent Portal. Withdrawing through the\u00a0Parent Portal<\/a>\u00a0helps us ensure student records are transferred to the new school in a timely manner. If you are withdrawing more than one child, complete a separate request for each child.<\/p>\n To complete a withdrawal form, log in to your\u00a0Parent Portal<\/a>\u00a0account, click on the \u201cRegistration\u201d tab, and under \u201cNew Requests\u201d select the appropriate withdrawal period. Contact your child\u2019s new school\/school district to inquire about their registration process.<\/p>\n Please note: A withdrawal cannot be used to request a different school within SD42. If your child is currently attending an SD42 school and you would like to request a transfer to a different school within our district, you will need to complete a transfer request.
