Students and staff invite anyone who has volunteered this year to a Volunteer Appreciation Tea on:<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, May 16<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>From 1:00-2:20 pm<\/p>\n<p>In the MRE gym<\/p>\n<p>Please RSVP to <a href=\"mailto:mre_reception@sd42.ca\">mre_reception@sd42.ca<\/a> by May 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, so we know how many wonderful volunteers to expect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>GARDEN PROJECT \u2013 HELP NEEDED!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Come be part of our School Garden Revival: May 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at 9 am!<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are needed to clean out our school garden and shed. We will be dismantling the old beds to make room for new garden beds. Bring your muscles and tools to take apart the existing wood. We also need volunteers with trucks to drop off the green waste at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHOOL PARKING LOTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our school is a very busy place during morning drop off and after-school pick up times.\u00a0 Please remember to be cautious when walking from your car to the school \u2013 always use sidewalks and avoid walking through the parking\u00a0 lots as much as possible.\u00a0 If you are dropping off on River Road, please ensure you are not blocking the entrance or exit to the school parking lots or\u00a0 drive-thru area as traffic can back up along the road when entrances\/exits are blocked.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for helping us keep our school a safe place!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>YEARBOOK SALES OPEN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MRE 2022-23 Yearbooks are now for sale \u2013 purchase using the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/plicbooks.ca\/go\/3HVWCV\">https:\/\/plicbooks.ca\/go\/3HVWCV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each yearbook is $17 and will be delivered to the school and distributed directly to the students.<\/p>\n<p>GRADE 7 PARENTS DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE A YEARBOOK FOR THEIR CHILD AS ONE WILL BE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>YEARBOOK COVER CONTEST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2022-2023 Maple Ridge Elementary Yearbook needs a cover!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Any <\/strong>student can enter. Lockdowns may be necessary where there is an internal or external threat to the safety of the school occupants.\u00a0 As with fire drills and other safety programs, the hope is to familiarize students and staff with a procedure that they will be able to follow quickly, effectively, and safely.<\/p>\n<p>During the lockdown portion of the drill, students are to clear the halls and report to the nearest available classroom where they are to remain out of sight and stay as silent as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WESTVIEW SECONDARY ~ ELEMENTARY BAND PROGRAM <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Will your child be in Grade 5, 6 or 7 next year?
