Maple Ridge Elementary<\/strong><\/p>\n Friday, January 13, 2023<\/p>\n <\/p>\n INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY ASSEMBLY <\/strong><\/p>\n Our assembly on January 24th<\/sup> will focus on the themes of inclusion and diversity.\u00a0 On this day, students are encouraged to wear clothing representative of their culture and heritage.\u00a0 Some ideas include wearing items of traditional clothing, colours, or any other small items such as a pin with a flag, crest or guild.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n BOOK FAIR \u2013 French (and English)<\/strong><\/p>\n On February 6th<\/sup> and 7th<\/sup> there will be a French Book Fair taking place.\u00a0 All classes can attend as there will also be a selection of English books available.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n HEALTH AWARENESS<\/strong><\/p>\n In the new year we will be continuing to practice Health Awareness<\/strong> for everyone entering our school \u2013 this includes staff, students, and visitors. These resources are available for both primary and intermediate aged children.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n MEADOWRIDGE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION <\/strong><\/p>\n Registration for Spring Flag Football<\/strong> will soon be opening for children ages 8-18!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The season runs from April to June and teams practice twice per week from 6-8 pm.\u00a0 Games happen every Saturday. The only gear required is a mouth guard.<\/p>\n Registration will begin February 1st<\/sup>, 2023<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Registration for Fall Tackle Football<\/strong> will also soon be opening for children ages 8-18!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The season runs from June-November.\u00a0 Teams practice twice per week from 6-8 pm.\u00a0 Games take place on Saturdays. The league\u2019s volunteers strive to create an inclusive community with a focus on building a fun, competitive athletic atmosphere that helps all players learn and develop their ball hockey skills. Sportsmanship and fair play are encouraged, while instilling a passion for the game. Students who are currently in Grade 5<\/strong> are eligible to begin Late French Immersion in September 2023, at Golden Ears Elementary.
