The choice of costume should always be respectful of the diverse cultural and lived experiences of all the members of our school communities.<\/p>\n<p>Please consider the two following guidelines when you and\/or your child are making the costume selection:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Be kind and consider the school community.<\/strong>\u00a0Costumes that could be offensive or perpetuate the stereotype of someone\u2019s gender identity, culture, race, religion, age, or disability must not be worn.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be thoughtful and safe<\/strong>. Costumes that depict violence, alcohol or drugs are not appropriate. Similarly, replica weapons (e.g., guns, knives, etc.) must not be brought to school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We appreciate your consideration and thank you for helping keep our schools safe, caring, and inclusive this Halloween.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HALLOWEEN FOOD DRIVE <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Grade 7 Leadership group is running a food drive to help people in our community. We will be collecting donations of money and non-perishable food items until November 2<sup>nd<\/sup>. Leadership students will come to classes each morning to collect donations.<\/p>\n<p>All donations will be given to the Friends in Need food bank. This is a yearly fundraiser hosted by MRE PAC.\u00a0 Your child\u2019s artwork can be transferred to mugs, cards, phone cases, etc.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to purchase items, place your order online and return the original artwork to school on or before November 9<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Final products delivered during the week of Dec 5-9<sup>th<\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SANTA MALL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Santa Mall is an event where students can shop, by donation, for a gift for someone special.\u00a0 More information is coming.\u00a0 Santa Mall takes place at MRE on December 1 and 2, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Please consider helping &#8211; to make this a success, many ELVES are needed.<\/p>\n<p>Santa\u2019s Elves must be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>collect fun, unique and amazing donations for the students to purchase<\/li>\n<li>ensure that donations are clean, appropriate, and safe<\/li>\n<li>store donations until Santa Mall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you have items for donation please bring them to the Santa Mall after school\u00a0Wednesday,\u00a0November\u00a030th or 8am on Thursday, December 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Hunt through your bins, boxes and closets and pass along all your unwanted jewelry, candles (unburned), bath stuff (unopened), tableware, clothes (new w\/tag), artwork, and holiday themed items etc. Wrapping paper, tissue, bags, boxes, bows and gift tags are always in short supply as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you only have 1-2 small items, there will be a box available for donations across from the office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Together let&#8217;s make this Santa Mall the best one yet!
