Then we will call students down to the office in order to pick up items dropped off.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If picking students up early, please come close to the time that was arranged (e.g. coming too early means the office has to search for them if they are not in their classroom).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Please remember to notify not only the classroom teacher but also the office of an absence or early dismissal or when arriving late.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Parent Input Regarding Student Placement for 2025-2026<\/strong> \u2013 We are beginning to create our classes for next year.\u00a0 Please be assured that staff devote considerable time, care and attention to this process.\u00a0 This very complex and lengthy responsibility occurs over several weeks and continues into September when class placements are finalized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Throughout the year, there have been many opportunities for parents and teachers to discuss each child.\u00a0 Staff work together to consider the following criteria very carefully:\u00a0<strong>social emotional skills and relationships, <\/strong>as well as<strong> learning styles, strengths, and needs.<\/strong>\u00a0 Our goal is to create safe and engaging inclusive classrooms that balance these factors, as equitably as possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you feel there is <u>further<\/u> information to consider about your child, <strong>you may submit input to the principal or vice-principal <\/strong><strong>(and\/or your child&#8217;s classroom teacher) <\/strong><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in writing using the FORM on the school website or by sending an email to<\/span> <a href=\"mailto:lisa_lawrance@sd42.ca\">lisa_lawrance@sd42.ca<\/a> or <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:katherine_ross@sd42.ca\"><strong>katherine_ross@sd42.ca<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong> by May 30<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Please refrain from requesting specific teachers or peers by name<\/strong>.\u00a0 As class placement at Laity View is a collaborative process, parent input forms are shared with all teachers for discussion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><em>Note: Input form will be available on the school website (same location as weekly updates) by Monday afternoon or pick up a copy at the office<\/em><\/strong><em>.\u00a0 <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Registration for Summer Learning, Apr. 17<sup>th<\/sup> to May 8<sup>th<\/sup> <\/strong>\u2013 Parents can register on the parent portal for English or French elementary summer learning and\/or secondary summer learning through the parent portal between noon April 17<sup>th<\/sup>and 3pm on May 8<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Kindergarten to Grade 6 English is hosted at c\u0313\u0259sq\u0259nel\u0259 Elementary and French is hosted at <strong>Laity View Elementary<\/strong> both from 9:00 am \u2013 12:20 pm and Grade 7 to 8 Transition is hosted at
