Congratulations to both of our basketball teams for an excellent season.\u00a0 The boys\u2019 team was undefeated!\u00a0 A huge thank you to our coaches and parents for supporting your children while driving them to practices and games.\u00a0 A reminder our reporting conferences are this week, as such we dismiss early on Thursday and there is no school on Friday<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week and spring break.\u00a0 Enjoy your break and we will see you back at school on Monday, March 31st<\/sup>!<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade 7 Quebec Exchange Trip Fundraiser<\/strong> \u2013 Grade 7 French Immersion students are bagging groceries for donations<\/strong> today (Sunday) at No Frills in Maple Ridge from 11:00 am to 4:45 pm<\/strong>. This fundraiser will help offset the costs of their Quebec Exchange program.\u00a0 Please consider doing your shopping there or stop by to show your support!<\/span><\/p>\n

Grade 7 Quebec Exchange Trip Fundraiser<\/strong> \u2013 Candy Bag Sales for $2 each<\/strong>, at 11:30 am (early dismissal) on Thursday, March 13th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 There will be two stations set up outside:\u00a0 one at the front of school and one on the field side.<\/span><\/p>\n

Laity View Book Swap<\/strong> \u2013 We are so excited to have our\u00a0first ever Book Swap this Wednesday<\/strong>!\u00a0 This event will be a great way to get some exciting new books into students\u2019 hands.\u00a0 For this event to be a success we will need lots of book donations from our families.\u00a0 Get a jump start on your spring cleaning and send in all the books that your children have already read so they can swap them out for some new and exciting reads!<\/span><\/p>\n

Please only send books that are in GOOD used condition<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0– age appropriate for K-7 (we will have a separate swap for primary and intermediate)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0– no board books\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0– no ripped covers or pages<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0– no writing\/stains in books<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0– no colouring or activity books<\/span><\/p>\n

Teachers collected books last week.\u00a0 <\/strong>Don\u2019t hesitate to reach out to Mme Clark<\/span> (natalie_clark@sd42.ca<\/a>) if you have any further questions about this exciting event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Three Way Reporting Conferences, Mar. 13 (early dismissal at 11:30am) and Mar. 14<\/strong> \u2013 A reminder our reporting conferences are this week, as such we dismiss early on Thursday and there is no school on Friday<\/strong>.\u00a0 This is an important time where your child will be showing their learning for the term and setting goals for term 3.\u00a0 As such, please try to find alternate arrangements for your other children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Student Learning Surveys <\/strong>\u2013 If you have a student in Grade 4 or 7, parents are invited to complete a Student Learning Survey.\u00a0 This year, parents do not need a logon code to access the online Student Learning Survey.\u00a0 Electronic surveying is available until May 2nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 The website to access the electronic survey is:<\/span> www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/sat_survey\/access.htm<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 Please do not<\/u> use Safari as there is currently a glitch with this browser.\u00a0 We invite you to take 15 minutes of your time to fill this out.\u00a0 The more parents who complete these surveys, the higher quality of feedback we will receive.\u00a0 Your input is appreciated.<\/span><\/p>\n
