Dear Laity View Families,<\/p>\n

Love is in the air this week as we see Valentine\u2019s Day upon us.\u00a0 If you are planning to bring a treat to your child\u2019s class, please check with the teacher to be sure that it is appropriate with dietary restrictions for some students.<\/p>\n

February is also kindness month at Laity View.\u00a0\u00a0We are planning a few schoolwide activities to promote our theme of kindness and then end with Pink Shirt Day on Wed., Feb. 28th<\/sup>.\u00a0\u00a0 Ask your children to tell you the real acts of kindness read over the announcements each day.\u00a0 A reminder that Friday is a professional development day and Monday is Family Day holiday, so there is no school for students February 14th<\/sup> and 17th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week. \u00a0\u00a0\u200b<\/p>\n

Grade 7 Quebec Exchange Trip Fundraiser<\/strong> \u2013 Valentines Candy Bag Sales for $2 each<\/strong>, after school on Thursday, February 13th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 There will be three stations set up outside:\u00a0 one at the front of school, one at the intermediate field double doors, and one by the primary playground double doors.<\/p>\n

Grade 8 Registration<\/strong> \u2013 All Grade 8 registration for the 2025-26 school year will be done online through the Parent Portal<\/u>.\u00a0 The Grade 8 Transfer Period will open at 12:00 noon February 11th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 Deadline for completing a request for the Grade 8 Transfer Period is February 25th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Families with children currently enrolled in a Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows School District elementary school should submit an Existing Student Transfer Request<\/em><\/strong> in the Grade 8 Transfer Period.\u00a0 Read the Grade 8 Transfer Period Information 2025\/26<\/strong><\/a> tab on the school district website for more details.<\/p>\n

Grade 7 Quebec Exchange Trip Fundraiser<\/strong> \u2013 Help support our Grade 7 students as they fundraise for their trip to Quebec!\u00a0 Start saving your empty bottles<\/strong> now and bring them during school drop-off and pick-up on Tuesday, February 25th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 There will be a Drive-thru bottle collection at the front of Laity View Elementary.\u00a0 Need pickup? Text 604-551-5191 to arrange collection.\u00a0 Thank you for your support!<\/p>\n

Visitors <\/strong>\u2013 All visitors are expected to report to the office by way of the main entrance.\u00a0 This is a safety measure as it is important for us to know who is in the school.\u00a0 Visitors are also expected to sign the Visitor Log in the office and collect a \u2018Visitor\u2019 or \u2018Volunteer\u2019 identification tag, which must be displayed while in the building and while on the school grounds outside.<\/p>\n
