{"id":2170,"date":"2024-05-05T09:33:28","date_gmt":"2024-05-05T16:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/laityview\/?p=2170"},"modified":"2024-05-05T09:33:28","modified_gmt":"2024-05-05T16:33:28","slug":"may-6th-update-to-families","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/laityview\/may-6th-update-to-families\/","title":{"rendered":"May 6th Update to Families"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dear Laity View Families,<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week we celebrate National Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.\u00a0 A huge thank you to our hard working and dedicated staff at Laity View!\u00a0 A reminder that our class group photographs are this Wednesday.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>May 6 \u2013 10<\/strong>:\u00a0 Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Wed., May 8<\/strong>:\u00a0 Class Group and Team Photo Day<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Thurs., May 9<\/strong>:\u00a0 2:20 pm PAC Plant Sale Fundraiser PICK UP (outside near bicycle racks)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Fri., May 10<\/strong>:\u00a0 12:25 pm PAC Hot Lunch \u2013 Boston Pizza Pasta<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02:20 pm Grade 7 Samosa Fundraiser PICK UP (outside near bicycle racks)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Primary Spell-a-thon money due<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sun., May 12<\/strong>:\u00a0 Every mother is amazing!\u00a0 Happy Mother\u2019s Day to all the moms everywhere!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Wed., May 15<\/strong>:\u00a0 District Non-Instructional Day \u2013 no school for students<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2023\/24 Yearbook Orders<\/strong> \u2013 2023\/24 Laity View Yearbooks are <strong>on sale for two weeks only from May 6<sup>th<\/sup>to 17<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 Orders are placed with Photo Expressions and paid online at <a href=\"https:\/\/plicbooks.ca\/go\/ED7ED6\"><strong>https:\/\/plicbooks.ca\/go\/ED7ED6<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>cost $20 each<\/strong>.\u00a0 Congratulations to our yearbook cover contest winners: Declan O for the front cover and Ashton F for the back cover.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>PRIMARY Cross Country Training<\/strong> \u2013 Primary Cross Country <strong>practices will begin Tuesday, April 30<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 We will practice <strong>Tuesday and Thursday at recess at Volker Park<\/strong>.\u00a0 Students meet at Ms. Carissa\u2019s room and we will walk over together.\u00a0 Race day is May 30<sup>th<\/sup> at Albion Fairgrounds for students in Kindergarten \u2013 Grade. 3.\u00a0 <u>Students will get a permission form by attending practice<\/u> and will need a form to compete on race day.\u00a0 Any questions, please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Carissa_Keenan@sd42.ca\">Carissa_Keenan@sd42.ca<\/a>. Thank you, and we look forward to our primary cross country event!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>INTERMEDIATE Cross Country Training<\/strong> \u2013 Intermediate Cross Country training begins this week for intermediates.\u00a0 Practices will take place on <strong>Mondays and Wednesdays at the 10:20 recess<\/strong> with Mme Edwards and M. Tremblay.\u00a0 Please meet at the Volker Park entrance.\u00a0 All intermediate students are welcome!\u00a0 The district race takes place on Tuesday, May 28<sup>th<\/sup> at Alouette Lake Beach area.\u00a0 Parents are responsible for getting their child(ren) to and from the district race.\u00a0 Students can pick up a permission form from M.
