<\/strong>\u00a0Please join us at the front entrance of the school to start your day by greeting some staff and leadership students with a fist bump.\u00a0 <strong>Primary students<\/strong> from the following classes \u2013 Kitts, Cunliffe, Gore, VanKralingen, Ferguson, Love, Tremblay, Csillag, Williams, McGavock, Bucholz, Bowden, and Hermann <strong>gather on the west side of the school near the bicycle racks<\/strong>.\u00a0 The <strong>intermediate students<\/strong>(<u>and a few primary students<\/u>) from the following classes \u2013 Halina, Howitt, VanRyk, Fourchalk, D\u2019Angelo, Perrett, O\u2019Doherty, Dahle, Kreig, Homeniuk, Villa, Bailey, Bradley, Carissa, and Maher <strong>gather on the east side of the school near the basketball court<\/strong>.\u00a0 Mrs. Lawrance and Mme Collett will slowly and safely direct the students\/parents through the front entrance doors.\u00a0 Students who do not want to participate are welcome to line up at their usual classroom area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Fri., Mar. 1<\/strong>:\u00a0 12:25 PAC Hot Lunch \u2013 McDonald\u2019s (pre-order required)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Mon., Mar. 4<\/strong>:\u00a0 6:30 \u2013 8:00 pm Body Science Parent Information Presentation (Library)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Grade 8 Registration<\/strong> \u2013 All Grade 8 registration for the 2024-25 school year will be done <u>online through the Parent Portal<\/u>.\u00a0 <strong>The Grade 8 Transfer Period will open at 12:00 noon February 13<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 Deadline for completing a request for the Grade 8 Transfer Period is February 27<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Families with children currently enrolled in a Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows School District elementary school should <strong>submit an <em>Existing Student Transfer Request<\/em><\/strong> in the Grade 8 Transfer Period.\u00a0 Read the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sd42.ca\/student-registration\/\"><strong>Grade 8 Transfer Period Information 2024\/25<\/strong><\/a> tab on the school district website for more details.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Body Science Parent Information Presentation<\/strong> \u2013 Each year, throughout BC, students in elementary grades receive instruction in sexual health education.\u00a0 Instruction is mandated for all BC students by the Ministry of Education and it is included in the Physical and Health Education program.\u00a0 On occasion, some schools bring in experts in the field to address the topic with the school community.\u00a0 We are pleased to inform you that this year, the <strong>PAC has sponsored Corinne Underwood of Choices for Sexual Health to visit the school to work with parents and students in Kindergarten to Grade 7<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please join us for an informative <strong><em>Presentation for Parents<\/em><\/strong> on <strong><em>March 4, from 6:30 pm \u2013 8:00 pm<\/em> in the library<em>.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 More information to follow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Three Way Reporting Conferences, Thurs. Mar. 14 (early dismissal at 11:30am) and Fri. Mar. 15<\/strong> \u2013 Our teachers have put out a sign up for term 2 conferences on the parent portal.\u00a0 Please be sure to sign up for your desired allotted time of either online or in person conferences.\u00a0 This is an important time where your child will be showing their learning for the term and setting goals for term 3.\u00a0 As such, please try to find alternate arrangements for your other children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SD42 Accessibility Survey<\/strong>:\u00a0 The district is inviting feedback from students, staff, and families on accessibility barriers in the district. These barriers can range from access to a school program, building, or school information, to the ability to receive a needed service or support.
