Love is in the air this week as we see Valentine\u2019s Day upon us.\u00a0 If you are planning to bring a treat to your child\u2019s class, please check with the teacher to be sure that it is appropriate with dietary restrictions for some students.\u00a0 A reminder there is no school for students next<\/u> Monday and Tuesday, February 19th<\/sup> and 20th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/p>\n February 13 \u2013 27<\/strong>:\u00a0 Grade 8 Transfer Period\/Registration<\/p>\n Wed., Feb. 14<\/strong>:\u00a0 Happy Valentine\u2019s Day!<\/p>\n Fri., Feb. 16<\/strong>:\u00a0 12:25 PAC Hot Lunch \u2013 Subway (pre-order required)<\/p>\n Mon., Feb. 19<\/strong>:\u00a0 Family Day Holiday \u2013 School Closed<\/strong><\/p>\n Tues., Feb. 20<\/strong>:\u00a0 School Based Non-Instructional Day<\/strong> \u2013 no school for students<\/p>\n Grade 8 Registration<\/strong> \u2013 All Grade 8 registration for the 2024-25 school year will be done online through the Parent Portal<\/u>.\u00a0 The Grade 8 Transfer Period will open at 12:00 noon February 13th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 Deadline for completing a request for the Grade 8 Transfer Period is February 24th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Families with children currently enrolled in a Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows School District elementary school should submit an Existing Student Transfer Request<\/em><\/strong> in the Grade 8 Transfer Period.\u00a0 Read the Grade 8 Transfer Period Information 2024\/25<\/strong><\/a> tab on the school district website for more details.<\/p>\n Visitors <\/strong>\u2013 All visitors are expected to report to the office by way of the main entrance.\u00a0 This is a safety measure as it is important for us to know who is in the school.\u00a0 Visitors are also expected to sign the Visitor Log in the office and collect a \u2018Visitor\u2019 or \u2018Volunteer\u2019 identification tag, which must be displayed while in the building and while on the school grounds outside.<\/p>\n Dogs on School Grounds<\/strong> \u2013 Please remember to keep your dogs on a leash at all times while on the school grounds. Most important, please remember to pick up after your dog.\u00a0 Sometimes we are left with quite amess on our field.\u00a0 Some adults and children are either allergic to dogs or uncomfortable when dogs are present.\u00a0 Let\u2019s work together to ensure the safety and comfort of all the adults and children on our school grounds throughout the day, especially before and after school. A local chapter allows our community to access funding to create extra-curricular activities which enhance a child\u2019s learning of the French language.\u00a0 CPF is a group of volunteers dedicated to the creation and promotion of\u00a0French\u00a0second-language learning opportunities for young Canadians.
