This week, schools are participating in Orange Shirt Week to honour the children who never returned home and the survivors of the residential school system in Canada.\u00a0 Therefore, we encourage all students and staff to wear orange this week, especially on Friday for our assembly<\/strong>.\u00a0 A reminder that next Monday is a statutory holiday and next Tuesday is a non-instructional day, so there is no school for students.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/p>\n Sept. 25 \u2013 29<\/strong>:\u00a0 Orange Shirt Week \u2013 We invite \u2013 NO SCHOOL<\/strong><\/p>\n Tues., Oct. 3:\u00a0 District<\/strong> School Growth Planning Day \u2013 NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n Oct. 4 \u2013 6<\/strong>:\u00a0 Toonies for Terry \u2013 please bring in a toonie for the Terry Fox Foundation.<\/p>\n Bicycles and Scooters<\/strong>:\u00a0 Students must lock up their bicycles and scooters in the bicycle racks<\/u> along the west side of the school.\u00a0 The twisty locks work well for scooters.\u00a0 Unfortunately, students cannot store bicycles\/scooters inside the school\/classrooms because this creates a safety hazard for all staff and students.\u00a0 Thank you in advance for your cooperation.<\/p>\n Photo Expression Orders<\/strong>:\u00a0 Photo orders placed by October 11th<\/sup> will be delivered to the school with no shipping charge.\u00a0 Orders placed after October 11th<\/sup> will be delivered with the retake photo orders, also with no shipping charge.\u00a0 Photo retakes are scheduled for October 16th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0 After the last orders are delivered to our school, then any further photo orders are subject to shipping charges and are delivered to parents\u2019 homes.<\/p>\n Drop Off\/Pick Up Reminders<\/strong>:\u00a0 When in the drop off\/pick up lane, please remember to pull close to the yellow curb, remain in your vehicle, and keep moving your vehicle forward<\/strong> as the cars in front of you pull out to leave.\u00a0 In addition, the new bus lane on the south side of the island is for buses only and is not a drop off\/pick up area, so please only drive through the bus lane if absolutely necessary.<\/p>\n Student Verification Forms<\/strong>:\u00a0 Please check, sign, and date these important forms and have your childreturn the form to their teacher.\u00a0 It is imperative the school receives this form back for every student assoon as possible.<\/p>\n Parent Portal Consent Forms<\/strong>:\u00a0 Please ensure that you have completed the\u00a02023\/2024 SD42
