We made it through the first week in our new classes!\u00a0 This week is typically a chance for everyone to meet each other and become familiar with everyone in their class.\u00a0 Many thanks to the PAC for organizing the Coffee and Donut Morning Event last Friday which was a huge success.\u00a0 A reminder that this Friday is Photo Day.\u00a0 Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.<\/p>\n
Mon., Sept. 18<\/strong>:\u00a0 All Kindergarten students begin attending all day, regular school hours<\/p>\n 6:30 pm Quebec Exchange Parent Meeting (Library)<\/p>\n Fri., Sept. 22<\/strong>:\u00a0 Individual Student Photo Day<\/strong> \u2013 Individual student photographs for each child are scheduled for Friday, September 22nd<\/sup>.<\/strong>\u00a0 Photo Expressions program offers paper-free, online photo viewing and ordering that is fully customizable.\u00a0 On photo day, the students will receive an Express Proof with an access code for you to view your child\u2019s portraits from photo day.\u00a0 You are able to go online to view and order your child\u2019s photos.\u00a0 If your child is absent on photo day, then Photo Retakes are in the morning on Monday, October 16th<\/sup><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Drop Off\/Pick Up Reminders<\/strong>:\u00a0 When in the drop off\/pick up lane, please remember to pull close to the yellow curb, remain in your vehicle, and keep moving your vehicle forward as the cars in front of you pull out to leave.\u00a0 In addition, the new bus lane on the south side of the island is for buses only and is not a drop off\/pick up area, so please only drive through the bus lane if absolutely necessary.<\/p>\n Student Verification Forms<\/strong>:\u00a0 It is essential that we have accurate contact information on file at all times.\u00a0 Please double check your information and have your child return the form to their teacher by this Friday<\/strong>.\u00a0 It is imperative the school receives this form back for every student as soon as possible.\u00a0 Thankyou in advance for your cooperation.<\/p>\n Parent Portal Consent Forms<\/strong>:\u00a0 Please ensure that you have completed the\u00a02023\/2024 SD42 Consent Forms on the portal. \u00a0There are several important permission forms to complete, such as Appropriate Use and Use of Digital Tools (technology\/internet), Personal Information Consent, Outside Media Release, School Photography, Yearbook Consent, and Walking Field Trip Permission.\u00a0 Please read through each form in order to give permission or not provide permission for each child in your family at Laity View Elementary.<\/p>\n Parent Portal Emails<\/strong>:\u00a0 Please be sure to check the portal periodically in case you\u2019ve missed any school emails.\u00a0 Sometimes, parents unsubscribe from the portal email list without knowing it, so looking back at the portal occasionally is important.<\/p>\n School Supplies<\/strong>: If your child is in Kindergarten, please pay the school supply fee of $65 on the parent portal.\u00a0 If your child is in Grades 1 \u2013 5, please pay the school supply fee of $58 on the parent portal.\u00a0 Grades 1 \u2013 5 Planners will be available soon and cost $7 (portal fee coming soon as well).<\/p>\n Sincerely,<\/p>\n Mrs. Lawrance<\/p>\n \n PAC News<\/strong>:<\/p>\n First PAC Meeting<\/u><\/p>\n First PAC meeting of the year will be Sept. 25th<\/sup> at 7pm at the school.<\/p>\n *Pizza cut off is Thursday, Sept. 21st at midnight!<\/p>\n Fundraisers<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n PANAGO PIZZA<\/strong> \u2013 Order Wednesday Sept. 20 and 21 and Laity View gets back $1 from each pizza sold on both of those days!\u00a0 Exclusively to the Lougheed location @ 105 – 20130 Lougheed hwy.\u00a0If you live east of 216th<\/sup> you must do pick up for us to get the kick back.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n GLOBAL COFFEE<\/strong> \u2013 Back by popular demand!\u00a0 Get up and roar, The Lions Brew, Laity View Perk up, Lionheart Espresso, Jitterless Java, and hot chocolate!\u00a0 Order deadline Oct. 2nd<\/sup>.
