First Day of School 2023 \u2013 Tues., Sept. 5th<\/sup><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Welcome back!\u00a0 We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable summer holiday.\u00a0 There\u2019s always something exciting about the start of a new school year.\u00a0 We are excited to see you soon!<\/p>\n

My name is Lisa Lawrance and I am thrilled to be coming to Laity View elementary as principal.\u00a0 Joining me as vice principal is Suzanne Collette.\u00a0 Together, we look forward to working with our staff and school community to ensure our students have opportunities for great learning experiences.<\/p>\n

Staff are working hard to prepare our school for start-up, and we want to assure you that we are committed to supporting every student as we start this new school year.\u00a0 Our PAC is also actively planning another eventful year.<\/p>\n

Below is important information about school start-up.\u00a0 We have a late start on the first day<\/u>, so students attend 12:30 \u2013 2:20pm. This allows time for staff to have meetings in the morning.<\/p>\n

We wish all of our students, families, and staff a fantastic start to the school year!<\/p>\n

Tuesday, September 5th<\/sup><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday, September 5th<\/sup> at 12:30pm<\/strong> is the first day back for all students <\/strong>for the 2023\/2024 school year.\u00a0 A reminder that DISMISSAL is at 2:20 pm<\/strong>.\u00a0 On the first day back to school, students return to their last year\u2019s classrooms and line up spots<\/strong>.\u00a0 In classes where the existing teacher is no longer at our school, we will have a new teacher available.\u00a0 Students will be dismissed to the same spot.\u00a0 If the teacher has moved classrooms, they will communicate a new drop off \/ pick up spot to begin on day two.\u00a0 As there is no scheduled recess Tuesday afternoon, a snack is not necessary<\/u>.<\/p>\n

New Kindergarten students do not attend<\/u> school on Tuesday<\/strong> and have received a letter of instruction via the parent portal regarding their AM\/PM groups and gradual entry schedule starting on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

New students in Grades 1 to 7<\/strong> need to wait outside the front entrance<\/u> of the school and we will welcome the students into the Library at 12:30pm.\u00a0 Students come for attendance, registration if necessary, and receive important information.\u00a0 Please return to the outside front entrance at 2:20pm to pick up your child<\/u>.<\/p>\n

We need an accurate count for our enrollment, organization, and staffing.\u00a0 Please let us know if your child will not be present during the first week.\u00a0 Thank you and we sincerely wish all of our students great success and enjoyment during this school year.<\/p>\n
