Get an adult instead of being a bystander.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong><u>WINTER ACTIVITIES<\/u><\/strong>\u2013 Grade 4\/5 and6\/7 winter activities are underway.\u00a0 Please make sure you have given permission on the parent portal and paid for your child\u2019s activity of choice.\u00a0 Passes are available for pick up.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade 4\/5 &#8211; Dates are February 7, 21<\/li>\n<li>Grades 6\/7 &#8211; Dates are February 8, and 22.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>G<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">LOVE<\/span> YOUR NEIGHBOUR<\/u><\/strong>&#8211; In support of the Salvation Army Ridge Meadows Ministries, here in town, Kanaka Creek Kindergarten classes will be collecting winter accessories for the homeless adults in our community.\u00a0\u00a0 Please help us make a difference and a gesture of kindness to the less fortunate of our community by donating new or gently used gloves, socks, scarves and hats (adult size). The project will run from Jan. 7th\u00a0to Feb. 13th.\u00a0 Please send your donations to one of our 4 Kindergarten classrooms.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong><u>PINK\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/span><strong><u><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">SHIRT<\/span> DAY &#8211;<\/u><\/strong>takes place on February 27th, 2019.\u00a0 If you ordered a Kindness Counts T-shirt, they will be delivered prior to this date.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>GRADE 8 REGISTRATION PROCEDURES &#8211; Registration opens at 12 pm (noon) on\u00a0Tuesday, February 5, 2019<\/u><\/strong>. All Grade 8 registrations are done through the Parent Portal at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/parents.sd42.ca\/\">https:\/\/parents.sd42.ca<\/a>. Each registration is time-stamped at the moment the registration form is opened to begin the online registration process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DETERMINING CATCHMENT SCHOOL\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; The registration form will automatically populate with your child\u2019s secondary catchment school based on the residential address on file with your child\u2019s elementary school.\u00a0<strong><u>PLEASE MAKE SURE THE SCHOOL HAS YOUR CORRECT ADDRESS.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can also find your child\u2019s secondary catchment school using the school locator tool at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sd42.ca\/school-locator\/\">http:\/\/www.sd42.ca\/school-locator\/<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>If the address you register on the portal does not match what is on file with the school, <\/em><strong><em><u>proof of change of address will be required. Rental agreements are not accepted as proof of address.<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION \u00a0<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>FEB 12-19:<\/strong><strong><em>General Registration<\/em><\/strong>. General registration for English school.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>FEB 27-June 26:<\/strong><strong><em>Late Registration<\/em><\/strong>. This phase is for parents who may have missed previous registration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>TRANSFER PHASE 1<\/u><\/strong>Transfer Phase 1 takes place between February 12, 2019 and April 4, 2019.
