Dear Highland Park Elementary families,
The Highland Park Elementary Playground survey is now live: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7VNJJPG.
The survey will close at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024. Survey results will be shared with the school community through the Parent Portal and on our school website.
As a reminder, the purpose of this survey is to reach a clear consensus on our community’s wishes with respect to the replacement of the end-of-life playground. Specifically, we would like to know if you support a phased implementation of playground improvements (purchasing one item at a time as funds are raised), or if you would prefer to wait until all the funds are raised before the whole playground is replaced. It is anticipated that the full playground replacement cost will range from $165K-$200K for the equipment, plus funds for escalation, taxes, site preparation and contingency.
The survey includes an overview of the pros and cons of each approach so that you can make an informed decision. For your convenience, a copy of the background information and survey question has been posted to the school website at https://elementary.sd42.ca/highlandpark/playground-survey/. You can use the translate tool in the top right corner of this page to access a translation in your preferred language.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Walker
Principal
