DESCRIPTION:To provide an optimal learning environment for all students\, the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District No. 42 (SD42) must manage enrolment across all schools\, ensuring that enrolment numbers match building capacity. \n“Where space and facility is determined to be available\,” the school district has an open boundary policy that allows flexibility in choice regarding which secondary school students may attend (School Act section 74.1 Section 6). Due to increasing enrolment in recent years\, however\, the majority of students are assigned to their catchment school. All our high schools meet the needs of all learners. \nIn-District Students: Families with children currently enrolled in a Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) elementary school should submit an Existing Student Transfer Request in the Grade 8 Transfer Period. \nOut-of-District Students: Families with children currently enrolled in an elementary school outside of the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District (SD42) should submit a New Student Registration in the Grade 8 Transfer Period.

DESCRIPTION:January 31 is “ Plaid Day” at school. Everyone is invited to wear something plaid and join in our theme day. Plaid comes in a variety of forms: shirts\, pants\, jackets\, hats\, p.j.s\, pretty much anything. \nPlaid originated in Scotland\, and is a pattern consisting of crisscrossed horizontal and vertical bands of multiple colours referred to as a tartan. “Plaid” is derived from a Scottish Gaelic word that originally referred to a specific garment: a blanket or cape that would be worn over the shoulders.
