In his letter he outlined some important information for parents.<\/p>\n<p>The return to school from Winter Break was paused to give school communities time to implement updated safety guidelines.\u00a0 Our Glenwood Staff have spent the week reconfiguring classrooms to create more distance to ensure student safety.\u00a0 They have also had time to collaborate with one another to plan for the high possibility of a functional closure.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of a school closure (functional or medical), communication will be sent via the Parent Portal.\u00a0 Please ensure you have access to the portal.\u00a0 If you have any questions or need to be set up, please call the school office at 604-463-6512.\u00a0 The school may remain closed for a period of 7 calendar days and then be re-assessed at that point to return to in-person learning.<\/p>\n<p>If your child is sick and will be away, please let the school office know, either by phone, email or parent portal.\u00a0 Parents looking for some educational resources can check out our Glenwood Library for a variety of online activities. <a href=\"https:\/\/gss.sd42.libguides.com\/glenwoodlib\">https:\/\/gss.sd42.libguides.com\/glenwoodlib<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Glenwood\u2019s enhanced health and safety measures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our school has kept many of the health and safety measures intact that were in place last year.<\/li>\n<li>Students will continue to line up at their designated areas. For most students this will mean classroom outside doors.\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>It is important that we reduce crowding at these entrances as much as possible. <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>We kindly request that parents refrain from adding to the congestion at drop off and pick up. <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Please keep your distance if you need to wait with\/for your child.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Students <strong><em>must <\/em><\/strong>have completed the Health Check <strong><em>daily<\/em><\/strong>. If students are experiencing any cold\/flu symptoms <strong><em>or<\/em><\/strong> they do not pass the daily health check, school staff will be sending your child home.\u00a0 It is important that we protect the health of other students and staff.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/bc.thrive.health\/covid19\/en\">https:\/\/bc.thrive.health\/covid19\/en<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The Provincial Health Officer has issued an Order on Face Coverings. This order applies to schools.\u00a0 If your child cannot tolerate wearing a mask for medical reasons, please contact the school office, otherwise it is expected that all students will wear a mask while at school.<\/li>\n<li>Our school has split recess and lunch times, reducing the numbers of students crowding outside.<\/li>\n<li>We will continue to hold school assemblies virtually.<\/li>\n<li>We will not be having visitors into our school at this time.
