{"id":3519,"date":"2020-12-02T14:19:16","date_gmt":"2020-12-02T22:19:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/glenwood\/?p=3519"},"modified":"2024-06-27T15:35:59","modified_gmt":"2024-06-27T22:35:59","slug":"decembers-theme-focus-on-the-bright-spots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/glenwood\/decembers-theme-focus-on-the-bright-spots\/","title":{"rendered":"December&#8217;s Theme &#8211; Focus on the Bright Spots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are so looking forward to celebrating our students&#8217; learning with their parents during our Student Led Conferences on Dec. 3 and 4, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>It is so easy to focus on the negative, that we often overlook the positive.<\/p>\n<p>A good reminder: \u00a0what we pay attention to, will amplify.<\/p>\n<p>At Glenwood, we work hard to ensure our students are happy, kind, display critical and creating thinking, show responsibility and practice to communicate clearly and succinctly. \u00a0 You will see on their report cards our emphasis on competencies.<\/p>\n<p>These\u00a0Core Competencies are sets of intellectual, personal, and social and emotional proficiencies that all students need in order to engage in deep, lifelong learning. \u00a0 Students develop Core Competencies when they are engaged in the \u201cdoing\u201d \u2013 the Curricular Competencies \u2013 within a learning area. As such, they are an integral part of the curriculum.
