A hearty welcome to 2017-2018 to all!<\/strong><\/p>\n We trust you had a relaxing summer! Ms Davis and I are looking forward to starting the year and working with you – our team of amazing educators, parents and students.<\/p>\n We are very excited to have an intrepid team of educators and learners in the building this year. \u00a0\u00a0We are starting this year with quite a few new(er) and\/or returning staff members.\u00a0 In June, we said good bye to:<\/p>\n Nicole Anzinger, Sue Barre, Karen Blom, Christa Dey Girard, Rebecca Mardis, Robyn Pedersen, Renae Pennell, James White, Dave Allen and Benjamin Wickham. Our best wishes accompany them on their endeavours.<\/p>\n We want to extend a warm welcome to:<\/p>\n Melissa Affleck, Nicola Gray, Katie Waddell, Angela Manyk, Taylor Horniachek, Megan Olynyk, Kim Larson and Katelyn Hebert!\u00a0 We are confident you will quickly find a mentor to immerse you in Glenwood\u2019s \u201cGrizzly\u201d ways!\u00a0 Additionally, welcome back to Katie McGuire who is back from a maternity leave!<\/p>\n Shape of day 1:\u00a0 September 5, 2017:<\/strong><\/p>\n We will have signs and maps up so students could find their last year\u2019s room.<\/p>\n 8:30 am<\/strong> \u2013 Students report to the classrooms.\u00a0 New students will meet in the library.\u00a0 It will be a soft SMART start for our students.<\/p>\n 9:30 am<\/strong> \u2013 school wide assembly<\/p>\n 10:00 am<\/strong> \u2013 recess<\/p>\n After recess, students will return to last year\u2019s rooms, and we will dismiss students at 11:00 am.<\/strong><\/p>\n Reminder to parents \u2013 please, check with your child\u2019s teacher to determine WHERE to pick up your child.\u00a0 Often outside doors are used to dismiss students.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The journey on which we are about to embark will not be about the destination only, but about the expedition, the exploration and the perseverance! We know that what you do on a daily basis is what constitutes the success of our children.<\/p>\n The September newsletter and class placement information will be going out \u2013 shortly – next week.<\/p>\n
