Dear Eric Langton families,<\/p>\n
I am again writing to share a brief update on the Eric Langton Elementary Replacement Project.<\/p>\n
The district received the permit from Fortis BC this week, and construction of the new school is now underway, starting with excavation and foundation work.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Temporary Closure of 122nd<\/sup> Avenue Pathway <\/strong><\/p>\n To complete the foundation work without impacting pedestrian safety, the 122nd<\/sup> Avenue pathway will be closed for approximately three to four weeks, beginning Wednesday, September 25, 2024<\/strong>. This path will then be widened and reopened for pedestrians on or before Wednesday, October 23, 2024<\/strong>. (See purple line on map<\/a>.)<\/p>\n \n Access Roadway Next to James Best Centre Unavailable<\/strong><\/p>\n To ensure pedestrian safety, the construction access point off 227th<\/sup> Street will be a NO PARKING zone. The district continues to explore with the City of Maple Ridge the creation of temporary parking just off 227th<\/sup> Street to address the needs of families at pickup\/drop-off.
