{"id":454,"date":"2019-08-30T09:53:03","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T16:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/cusqunela\/?p=454"},"modified":"2019-08-30T11:38:39","modified_gmt":"2019-08-30T18:38:39","slug":"aug-29-update-to-parents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/cusqunela\/aug-29-update-to-parents\/","title":{"rendered":"Aug. 29th Update to Parents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families,<\/p>\n<p>Below is some additional start up information for next week to help things go smoothly!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>What to Expect Next Week:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>School is in session from 8:30-11am this Tuesday September 3<sup>rd<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>Regular school hours 8:30-2:20pm begin from Wednesday onwards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Look for our canopies and school signs outside Albion and Webster\u2019s Corners!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>For students in grades 1 through 7, there will be canopies with c\u0313\u0259sq\u0259nel\u0259 school signage in front of both Webster\u2019s Corners (Gr.1-3) and Albion (Gr.4-7) Elementary Schools. We will have staff at these canopies to ensure students and parents can easily find our temporary classrooms.<\/li>\n<li>We will be doing a \u201csoft start\u201d each day with classrooms open every day from 8:15am onwards and attendance done slightly later.<\/li>\n<li>Kindergarten families already have their gradual entry information and we will continue to follow this same schedule just at the Kanaka Creek and Blue Mountain school sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Partial School Supply Lists:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>To minimize the amount of supplies that students bring to our temporary school sites we ask that they only bring the items listed below for the first three weeks. These items are the essentials we need to begin learning routines quickly. We will ask for the additional school supply items (not listed below) to be brought to c\u0313\u0259sq\u0259nel\u0259 later in September.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Intermediate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Binder<\/li>\n<li>9 Duotangs<\/li>\n<li>Package of lined duotang paper (200 sheets maximum)<\/li>\n<li>Two pencils and two blue pens<\/li>\n<li>Pencil box<\/li>\n<li>Yellow highlighter<\/li>\n<li>Pencil crayons<\/li>\n<li>Felt markers<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Ruler and pencil sharpener<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Primary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pencil box<\/li>\n<li>pencils<\/li>\n<li>Pencil crayons<\/li>\n<li>Crayons<\/li>\n<li>Felts<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Ruler and pencil sharpener<\/li>\n<li>Glue<\/li>\n<li>Which exercise books?<\/li>\n<li>Duotangs?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Our Temporary School Office(s) &amp; Phone Number(s):<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For these first three weeks we will have secretaries working both at Albion and Webster\u2019s Corners schools. Mrs. Whittington will work in the main Albion Office and Mrs. Ulriksen will work out of our temporary office space across from the main Webster\u2019s Corners office. Our school email can also be found under the link on our school website.<\/li>\n<li>In the case of an emergency you may also contact the main office of your child\u2019s host school directly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Moving to New Classrooms:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>If everything goes according to plan we intend to move students into their new classrooms Tuesday of the second week (September 10<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I will send another update this weekend again with any final reminders.
