{"id":2933,"date":"2023-04-11T13:34:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T20:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/cusqunela\/?p=2933"},"modified":"2023-04-11T13:34:00","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T20:34:00","slug":"april-11th-update-to-families","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elementary.sd42.ca\/cusqunela\/april-11th-update-to-families\/","title":{"rendered":"April 11th Update To Families"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families,<\/p>\n<p>Some of our amazing grade 6\/7 leaders have organized to collect donations to support Katie\u2019s Place Animal Shelter <strong>NEXT week (April 17-20)<\/strong>.\u00a0 Katie\u2019s Place is a volunteer run non profit animal shelter that focuses on helping cats and is just minutes from the school. Volunteers nurture cats and other small animals back to health and then helps them to be adopted. To learn more about Katie\u2019s Place you can visit their website at <a href=\"https:\/\/katiesplaceshelter.com\">https:\/\/katiesplaceshelter.com<\/a> Our student leaders will come by classrooms each day Monday to Thursday next week to <strong>collect cash or new (near new) product donations<\/strong> such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>canned cat\/kitten foods of any type<\/li>\n<li>cleaning supplies (sponges, scrubbers, mops, brooms, dish soap, hand soap\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>hidey holes and beds<\/li>\n<li>paper towels<\/li>\n<li>carriers for transporting animals<\/li>\n<li>scratching posts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Please note that any donated items must new, or near new, for the student leaders to collect and deliver. Older or damaged items will not be accepted.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Upcoming Items Are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Our April PAC meeting is THIS Thursday April 13<sup>th<\/sup> at 7pm, all parents are welcome!!<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Our Spring X-country teams are now gearing up for the May District Races! This year, the intermediate race is Tuesday May 16<sup>th<\/sup> and the primary race is Thursday May 18<sup>th<\/sup>.<strong> <em>Grade 4-7 students interested in joining the intermediate cross-country team can see Mrs. Fuller for a permission form. First practice is Tuesday, April 11.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong> April showers bring May flowers!\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Get ready for Mother\u2019s Day with beautiful flowers and baskets from Growing Smiles while helping raise money for the PAC to support fun initiatives for the kids!<\/p>\n<p>Orders close April 20th, pick up at the school May 5th.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ceschool.growingsmilesfundraising.com\/home\">https:\/\/ceschool.growingsmilesfundraising.com\/home<\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> PAC is also running a fundraiser with\u00a0Canadian Safety Supplies.\u00a0Shop extensive line of high-quality first aid kits and support our school! <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Online order page and pay link is \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/munchalunch.com\/schools\/cusqunela\"><strong>https:\/\/munchalunch.com\/schools\/cusqunela<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Order deadline is <em>April 11th<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Our Fun Theme Day for April is Rainbow Day on Friday April 21<sup>st<\/sup><\/strong>.
