Please see below for some timely information about cool programs available at the new Community Centre next door and reminders about school start up next week. Thanks. Mr.W.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Albion Community Center Program Information: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I wanted to share that our Fall 2022 Guide containing our new AftersKool program is now live!\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/user-nov9gru.cld.bz\/PRC-Fall-Program-Guide-2022\/62\/\">https:\/\/user-nov9gru.cld.bz\/PRC-Fall-Program-Guide-2022\/62\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>AftersKool Registration:\u00a0Will align\u00a0with all of our other registered Fall program and will follow the same calendar: August 30 at 6:00 AM online and September 1 at 8:00 AM in-person or over the phone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AftersKool Program Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AftersKool is a brand new, non-licensed, registered afterschool program focused on fun, active, safe and inclusive play! Children in Grades K &#8211; 7 will try new games, sports and work on creative projects in a supportive environment. Starting October 4, we will be running AftersKool at the Albion Community Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Our staff will provide a supervised walk from c\u0313\u0259sq\u0259nel\u0259 Elementary to the Albion Community Centre for students in Grades K and 1. Children from other local elementary schools are welcome to attend, but must be transported to the Albion Community Centre for sign-in by a parent, guardian, or other person agreed upon prior to participation.<\/p>\n<p>Program Information:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ages | Grades K \u2013 7<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Location | Albion Community Centre<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Days* | Monday &#8211; Friday (starting October 4, 2022)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Time | 2:20 PM &#8211; 4:20 PM (2 hours following school dismissal)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cost | $17\/day per child<\/p>\n<p>Please Note: AftersKool at ACC will not run during early dismissal days, Pro-D days or Winter\/Spring\/Summer break. AftersKool does not accommodate early pick-ups during kindergarten gradual entry.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>First Day of School <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The first day of school for students is September 6<sup>th<\/sup> from 12:30 pm \u2013 2:20 pm. <u>Students only attend for the afternoon on this first day.<\/u><\/strong> Regular school days begin on Wednesday September 7<sup>th<\/sup> with the school day being 8:30am-2:20pm. <strong>Please note that there has been a District calendar adjustment and dismissal is now 2:20pm (not 2:25).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Returning students go back to their last years teacher\/classroom for this first week. Our goal is to move into new classroom placements on Friday of this first week.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please inform the office if your child will not be attending on September 6<sup>th<\/sup> using the parent portal, or by leaving a message on our office answering machine, to help us confirm student enrollment in a timely manner.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone has any additional inquiries\u2026 our school office is now open (604-466-6231).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Please note:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><strong><em> Children beginning kindergarten in September do not attend school on the first day, and will follow a schedule communicated to families at the end of June. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>School Supplies for 2022-2023<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rather than requiring parents to purchase school supplies for their children<strong>,\u00a0c\u0313\u0259sq\u0259nel\u0259<\/strong> has again\u00a0 ordered bulk school supplies for students for this coming year. We will continue to charge a flat fee of $55 per child (planner included). This flat fee of $55 will cover ALL personal school supplies that each child will need for the school year. If any family wishes to purchase supplies separately they will again have this option.\u00a0 Classroom teachers will request school supply money in September once new classrooms have been established.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Keeping informed:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our School District Office, and individual schools, use our School District Parent Portal for communication. It is important that all families are connected to the Parent Portal to receive timely school communication.
