No light sabres or weapons please.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PAC Coffee Orders! <\/strong>Please help us in raising funds for our playground with K9 Coffee Co. fundraiser from May 2nd to May 13th.\u00a0Pick up will be on Friday, May 27th at the school from 1:30 to 3:00pm.\u00a0To order, please go to the link below and order under fundraising section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/munchalunch.com\/schools\/cusqunela\/\">https:\/\/munchalunch.com\/schools\/cusqunela\/<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>K9 Coffee is 100% organic certified coffee roasted fresh in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia<\/li>\n<li>Portion of all proceeds assist with the medical bills of retired Canadian Police Dogs<\/li>\n<li>$5 of $17 per bag, will go directly to help fund the new school playground<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Please join us for our production of\u00a0<strong><em>Beauty and the Beast Jr.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>Ticket forms are coming home with students, if you would like to request tickets please fill out the form and return to the school by May 9th, there will be 200 seats per show. Show dates are May 18<sup>th<\/sup>@ 1pm, May 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0@ 6pm,\u00a0May 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0@ 1pm, May 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0@ 6pm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Tickets also available at door until sold out.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Class Placement Information<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In late May we begin the process to create our classes for next year. Please be assured that staff devote considerable time, care, and attention to this process. This very complex and lengthy responsibility occurs over several weeks and continues into September when student numbers are finalized.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this process we do consider current peer connections but we also recognize that with have 80-100 children at each grade level there are many other excellent potential friendships waiting to happen with children not currently in your child\u2019s classroom. One of our goals as a school is to help your child develop strong social skills and resiliency over time. As part of this process children need opportunities to develop new connections within their entire peer group. With this in mind, we strive to find a balance between current peer connections, while working not to limit students into small peer group clusters year after year.<\/p>\n<p>Staff work together to consider the following criteria very carefully:\u00a0\u00a0<strong>social emotional skills and relationships,\u00a0<\/strong>as well as<strong>\u00a0learning styles, strengths and needs.<\/strong>\u00a0Our goal is to create safe and engaging inclusive balanced classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year, there have been many opportunities for parents and teachers to discuss each child.<em>\u00a0<\/em>If you feel there is further information to consider about your child, please feel free to speak to your child\u2019s teacher or submit input to the principal in writing no later than May 20, 2022.\u00a0<em>Please refrain from requesting specific teachers or peers by name.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Wheatley<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families, Please review the school and PAC updates below to help the next couple weeks go smoothly for your child(ren).
