Terry Fox Run\/Walk<\/strong><\/span>
\nCongratulations to all Albion students for we raised just over $4000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.\u00a0 In that we reached our fundraising goals, all students earned an extended lunch, Joey C.\u00a0 won Principal of the day and there will be a staff inflatable costume race on the back field- date and time TBA.\u00a0 A huge thank you to Ms. Holman, her students and all the parent volunteers who helped make this years event another success.<\/p>\n

Recess and Lunch<\/strong><\/span>
\nAs the weather is nicer a reminder to have students bring a hat, water and sun screen to school.\u00a0 We are also finding that students are starting to bring personal sporting equipment to school.\u00a0 A reminder that the school cannot take responsibility for lost or damaged items.\u00a0 All Moon Balls, Boomerangs\u00a0 and baseball and softball and lacrosse balls need to also remain at home.\u00a0 These balls are just too hard for a very busy playground.<\/p>\n

Albion Public Speaking
\n<\/strong><\/span>Last week, our Intermediate Public Speaking event on Monday enjoyed by staff, students, parents and guest Judges.<\/p>\n

Class Placements<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

We are beginning to create our classes for next year. Please be assured that staff devote considerable time, care, and attention to this process. This very complex and lengthy responsibility occurs over several weeks and continues into September when class placements are finalized. Throughout the year, there have been many opportunities for parents and teachers to discuss each child. Staff work together to consider the following criteria very carefully:\u00a0\u00a0social emotional skills and relationships,\u00a0<\/strong>as well as\u00a0learning styles, strengths, and needs.<\/strong> Our goal is to create safe and engaging inclusive classrooms that balance these factors, as equitably as possible. If you feel there is further information to consider about your child, you may submit input to Mrs. Dailey in writing by Friday, May 22.\u00a0 Please refrain from requesting specific teachers or peers by name as these submissions will not be reviewed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We invite parents of children entering Kindergarten in September 2026 to attend Thriving in Kindergarten<\/i>, an online information session designed to support you in preparing your child for a successful transition to school. Registration is required.<\/b><\/p>\n

We will share practical information, answer common questions, and provide guidance to help families feel prepared for this exciting new chapter. This event is co-hosted by the SD42 District Parent Advisory Council.<\/p>\n
